Ramazanov Dominates Kadestam To Bolster World Title Hopes

The fight between Zebaztian Kadestam and Murad Ramazanov from ONE: WINTER WARRIORS II

Murad Ramazanov’s incredible unbeaten run continued with his biggest victory to date at ONE: WINTER WARRIORS II, which aired on Friday, 17 December.

The man from Dagestan dominated former ONE Welterweight World Champion Zebaztian “The Bandit” Kadestam for three rounds to earn a unanimous decision win in their mixed martial arts showdown at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Kadestam had to be cautious when engaging, and he circled and probed at the start of the opening round. However, as soon as the Russian got the chance, he drove forward and pushed his foe to the Circle Wall, where he worked hard to drag him to the mat with a body lock.

Ramazanov chipped away with elbows and punches before advancing to mount, but then “The Bandit” turned and escaped as his opponent tried to take the back. The pair saw the round out on the fence, with Kadestam doing everything in his power to stay on his feet.

At the start of the second frame, Kadestam again probed with punches and low kicks. He successfully stuffed Ramazanov’s first shot at a takedown, but the Russian kept pressing. Eventually, he pushed the Swede to the Circle Wall and then slammed him to the canvas.

The Dagestan Fighters representative peppered him with punches and hammerfists until Kadestam was able to get to the turtle position and stand back up. “The Bandit” couldn’t keep Ramazanov off him, however, and the wrestler stuck to him like glue until the end of the frame.

Kadestam managed to stay on his feet for longer in round three, looking to stay mobile and thread through some high kicks. But he overcommitted on a right hand, and as soon as Ramazanov saw his chance to close the distance, he tripped his rival to the canvas.

It was one-way traffic from there, as Ramazanov rode his rival’s escape attempts and opened up with ground-and-pound from mount, side control, and back mount.

There was no escape for “The Bandit,” and the Russian pelted him until the final bell signaled a straightforward unanimous decision win.

With the judges’ nod, Ramazanov extended his perfect slate to 11-0, including three straights win on the global stage that could earn him the next shot at Kiamrian “Brazen” Abbasov‘s ONE Welterweight World Title.
