Nong-O To Face Kulabdam In Pivotal Bantamweight Muay Thai Clash At ONE Friday Fights 58

Nong-O Kulabdam

A high-stakes bantamweight matchup between two of ONE Championship’s most respected Muay Thai superstars has been added to ONE Friday Fights 58.

On April 5 in Asia primetime, former long-reigning ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion Nong-O Hama will go toe-to-toe with surging knockout artist “Left Meteorite” Kulabdam Sor Jor Piek Uthai at the historic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

These men find themselves at very different stages of their careers.

After racking up 10 straight wins and holding the ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Title for over four years, Nong-O’s run of dominance came to an end when Jonathan “The General” Haggerty knocked him out for the divisional crown at ONE Fight Night 9 in April 2023.

The 37-year-old Thai icon returned to action at ONE Friday Fights 46 last December, and though he pushed Scottish phenom Nico Carrillo to the brink in the opening stanza, he was knocked out in the second frame.

Nong-O – now the #2-ranked bantamweight Muay Thai contender – will look to prove he still has plenty of gas left in the tank and return to his winning ways when he squares off against his Thai compatriot on April 5.

Aptly named “Left Meteorite” for his show-stopping punching power, Kulabdam has competed in the world’s largest martial arts organization since 2019. However, he seems to have found his stride over the past year.

A former two-time Lumpinee Stadium Muay Thai World Champion, the 25-year-old southpaw will enter the contest riding a three-fight winning streak with all of those victories coming via highlight-reel knockout.

For Kulabdam, this battle represents his chance to earn a spot in the bantamweight Muay Thai division’s top-five rankings and take one massive step closer to securing a crack at Haggerty’s gold.

As for Nong-O, a win over a talented and dangerous knockout artist like “Left Meteorite” would ensure that he maintains his spot as the division’s #2-ranked contender and, importantly, silence the critics who say the former World Champion is at the end of his career.
