Lightweight MMA Contenders Alibeg Rasulov And Maurice Abevi To Collide At ONE Fight Night 32

A pivotal lightweight MMA fight with serious World Title implications has been added to ONE Championship’s upcoming June event.

On June 6 in U.S. primetime at ONE Fight Night 32: Nakrob vs. Jaosuayai on Prime Video, unbeaten Turkish sensation Alibeg Rasulov will lock horns with surging Swiss standout Maurice Abevi in what promises to be an explosive clash at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

The fight joins a previously announced main event between flyweight Muay Thai contenders Nakrob Fairtex and Jaosuayai Mor Krungthepthonburi.

The 32-year-old Rasulov has made an impact since debuting in ONE last summer.

Renowned for his powerful grappling and terrifying physicality, the Dagestan-born fighter shined in his first promotional appearance, overwhelming former lightweight MMA king Ok Rae Yoon en route to a unanimous decision win.

That victory improved Rasulov’s record to a pristine 14-0 and earned him a date with reigning titleholder Christian “The Warrior” Lee last December at ONE Fight Night 26.

While that matchup ended early in a disappointing no contest due to an accidental eye poke, the Turkish star’s stock continues to rise in the talent-laden lightweight MMA division.

Standing across from him will be the 25-year-old Abevi, who brings his own impressive resume to the contest. The Swiss fighter is an outstanding athlete with well-rounded skills and a tenacious, never-say-die attitude.

Like Rasulov, Abevi arrived in ONE with a perfect professional record.

Although he would suffer a defeat in his promotional debut, the Tiger Muay Thai representative has since been unstoppable, scoring a pair of first-round finishes sandwiched around a decision victory to establish himself as a bona fide contender.

Fans can expect an intriguing contest when these two elite lightweights share the ring. It’s no secret that Rasulov does his best work with his relentless grappling and savage clinch game, while Abevi is a true all-arounder who can maintain a blistering pace for 15 minutes if needed.

Both men will be looking to climb the lightweight MMA totem pole, and each knows that a victory on June 6 could mean a crack at gold next.

Rasulov hopes to punch his ticket to a rematch with Lee, and for Abevi, this is an opportunity to prove the hype is real and that he belongs in the division’s upper echelon.
