Parham Gheirati and Elbrus “The Samurai” Osmanov both walked away from ONE Fight Night 48: Erdogan vs. Elliott with crucial victories and a clear vision of what they want to accomplish next.

Gheirati returned to action to defeat Thai standout Nakrob Fairtex by unanimous decision in their bantamweight Muay Thai co-main event at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, on Friday, October 2.

The 22-year-old Iranian dropped Nakrob twice with heavy punches across three hard-fought rounds to improve his promotional record to an impressive 8-1 and make a triumphant comeback after recovering from a severe injury.

Earlier on the card, Osmanov had to dig deep against Chinese promotional newcomer Yi Yuxuan. After three consecutive Muay Thai appearances, “The Samurai” transitioned back to kickboxing to grind out a split-decision victory. The result handed Osmanov his fourth consecutive win and improved his overall professional striking record to a stellar 16-1.

After navigating vastly different stylistic challenges in Bangkok, both men are already looking toward massive global opportunities.

Gheirati Wants A Top-Five Opponent

Parham Gheirati had not competed since violently knocking out Tyson “John Wayne Noi” Harrison at ONE Friday Fights 127 exactly one year earlier.

After aggressively rehabilitating an injury during his time away, the Iranian trained extensively for his return. Still, he acknowledged that a 12-month competitive absence affected his ability to unleash everything he had prepared.

He said:

“I hadn’t fought for a year, so I trained a lot for this fight. But I feel like I could have done better.

“Because I hadn’t fought for a long time, I couldn’t perform at 100 percent. Next fight, for sure, I will do better.”

Nakrob made him work for every inch of the victory, particularly at close range, but Gheirati’s precise boxing produced the biggest and most damaging moments of the contest.

The Iranian scored a flash knockdown with his right hand in the opening round before flooring Nakrob again with blistering punches in the third. At the same time, the returning star came away highly impressed by the Thai veteran’s clinch game.

Gheirati said:

“I trained a lot in boxing, and Nakrob is a good fighter. I knew maybe this fight would go like this and I wouldn’t get the finish because I hadn’t fought for a long time. Nakrob also knew I had an injury, so he knew my weakness and attacked that area. But thank God I got the victory.

“Nakrob was better than I expected. I think his clinching is good, but at the same time, my clinching is good too.”

Gheirati has now won eight of his nine appearances in ONE Championship, with his sole defeat coming against former ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion Rambolek Chor Ajalaboon in March 2025.

With his injury fully behind him and another marquee victory on his record, he desperately wants an opportunity to break into the bantamweight Muay Thai rankings. And if that path brings him back to the only man to defeat him in ONE, Gheirati would happily welcome the chance to settle the score.

He said:

“I’m ready for everyone. Now I’m back and I’ve fixed my injury, so I can do better. I can fight anyone. I want to prove myself and get closer to the belt. I want to get into the rankings, so I want someone in the top five. Anyone is okay for me.

“I’ve had nine fights and only one loss, to Rambolek. So I’ll see you soon.”

Osmanov Wants To Join His Brother At ONE SAMURAI

Elbrus Osmanov faced an entirely different kind of challenge at ONE Fight Night 48.

The 25-year-old had competed under Muay Thai rules in each of his last three outings, so pivoting back to kickboxing against a decorated striker like Yi Yuxuan required a sharp tactical adjustment. Still, he did enough over three grueling rounds to earn the split decision and extend his winning streak to four.

He said:

“It was very hard because my last three fights were in Muay Thai. After three fights in Muay Thai, changing back to kickboxing was difficult for me.

“But Alhamdulillah, I won. My brother also won, so we’re happy. We did it.”

Osmanov firmly believes he can produce a much sharper performance the next time he competes under kickboxing rules, but his own victory was only a fraction of what made the weekend so memorable.

His younger brother, Dzhamil “Curly Ninja” Osmanov, earned a coveted main-roster ONE contract just one day earlier. Elbrus needed 10 appearances on ONE Friday Fights before earning his own six-figure contract, while Dzhamil accomplished the massive feat in only three.

Elbrus said:

“I feel amazing because I got my contract in my 10th fight. He did it in three fights – three fights, three wins. I was so surprised.

“We’re happy, just happy for him. I’m very proud. Very, very proud. The maximum. I’m happy.”

With both brothers now officially operating under main-roster contracts, Elbrus would love another opportunity to compete alongside Dzhamil — this time in Japan.

The siblings have already fought on the same ONE event two times and emerged victorious together on each occasion. Elbrus hopes they can extend that dominant family tradition at a future edition of ONE SAMURAI.

He said:

“Next, I want to fight at ONE SAMURAI in Japan. I want to fight there with Dzhamil. We want to go together, see the Japanese people, maybe go to Tokyo, and fight on the same event, on the same day.

“We’ve fought on the same event [two] times, and all times we both won. So next time in Japan, we will win again. I’m more confident in him than I am in myself because my brother is better than me.”
