The Best Pictures From ONE Fight Night 48
ONE Championship closed out a captivating triple-header weekend with its monthly U.S. primetime showcase this past Friday, October 2, and it was an evening where a new World Title contender emerged and a slew of rising stars made an impact.
The action-packed ONE Fight Night 48 card featured eight high-octane battles across MMA, Muay Thai, kickboxing, and submission grappling at Bangkok’s Lumpinee Stadium, and it delivered a brilliant submission, shocking knockouts, and razor-close firefights that had fans on the edge of their seats.
In the main event, undefeated Turkish powerhouse Shamil Erdogan put on a dominant showing against British titan Paul Elliott. Erdogan imposed his will throughout the contest before securing a rear-naked choke in the second round that forced the Middlesbrough native to tap out.
That submission victory extended the Turk’s perfect professional record to an impressive 14-0, announcing him as a legitimate contender for the vacant ONE Heavyweight MMA World Title. The stellar performance also earned him a well-deserved US$50,000 performance bonus.
The co-main event witnessed an all-out war between two incredible Muay Thai strikers, as Parham Gheirati faced Thai veteran Nakrob Fairtex. The Iranian controlled the bantamweight clash with technical precision, dropping his opponent twice during the bout en route to a unanimous decision.
