Yi Yuxuan

For “The Destined One” Yi Yuxuan, martial arts have always been a family affair. The Chinese kickboxer grew up following in the footsteps of his father, a former sanda champion whose influence helped shape Yi’s journey to ONE Championship.

Born in Xiangtan, Hunan province, Yi was introduced to martial arts by his father, Yi Yonghua, who won a provincial sanda title and founded the Hunan Xiangtan Shaolin Martial Arts School. Yi started practicing traditional martial arts there at just 5 years old, building a strong foundation in discipline and technique.

As his passion for combat sports grew, Yi turned his attention to kickboxing and made his professional debut as a teenager in 2016. His early experiences gave him the confidence to pursue a career in the ring, carrying forward the martial arts tradition that had surrounded him since childhood.

The young striker honed his craft at Chongqing Fengbao Kickboxing Club under coach Zheng Junfeng. He later moved to Changsha to train with Zhang Bo, a former coach of China’s National Muay Thai Team. Combining his sanda foundation with Muay Thai techniques, Yi developed a dynamic style built around sharp counters, rapid-fire combinations, punishing low kicks, and explosive high kicks.

An active competitor, Yi amassed more than 50 professional victories while establishing himself on the Chinese kickboxing circuit. He won Wu Lin Feng tournaments in 2023 and 2024, and then he added another significant accolade in July 2026 when he knocked out Iranian opponent Farhad Kavoosi to capture the ISKA Intercontinental Welterweight Championship.

Those achievements opened the door to ONE Championship, where Yi made his promotional debut against Russian standout Elbrus Osmanov at ONE Fight Night 48 in October 2026. The closely contested battle marked a new chapter in his career as he tested his skills against elite international competition.

Representing Changsha Great General Team, Yi continues to refine his techniques and pursue greater achievements in ONE Championship’s bantamweight kickboxing division. Inspired by his family’s martial arts legacy, he aims to establish a lasting reputation of his own among the world’s best strikers.
