Full Card Revealed For ONE Friday Fights 47 On January 12
On January 12 in Asia primetime, ONE Championship returns to the legendary Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, for the organization’s first event of 2024.
ONE Friday Fights 47 is packed with intriguing matches from top to bottom, featuring a number of the planet’s most dangerous strikers and talented mixed martial artists.
In the main event, accomplished Thai veteran Suakim Sor Jor Thongprajin goes toe-to-toe with Russian standout Alexey Balyko in a 140-pound catchweight Muay Thai clash.
With both athletes coming off impressive victories in their last outings, a win for either man could move him one massive step closer to a coveted six-figure contract and a spot on ONE’s main roster.
Before that, former WBC Muay Thai World Champion Daren Rolland makes his much-anticipated return to the world’s largest martial arts organization to take on 23-year-old Thai sensation Kompet Fairtex in a strawweight Muay Thai contest.
The Frenchman first fought in ONE back in 2019, suffering a loss to all-time great Sam-A Gaiyanghadao. He looks to employ his show-stopping long-range weapons against the well-rounded Kompet, who has won two straight in dominant fashion.
Lower on the card, fan-favorite Ferrari Fairtex showcases his flashy and flamboyant striking style as he looks for his third consecutive win at ONE Friday Fights.
Standing in his way is Belarusian knockout artist Antar Kacem. The 24-year-old’s explosive punching power and granite chin will give the Thai a serious test in this bantamweight Muay Thai showdown.
World-class striking bouts aren’t the only thing on the menu, as the card kicks off with a pair of MMA fights designed to produce fireworks.
First, Coopar “Rush” Royal and Komronbek Ortikov – each undefeated through one appearance at ONE Friday Fights – battle in a flyweight bout that could foreshadow what’s to come for the division.
In more flyweight MMA action, undefeated promotional newcomer Khalim Nazruloev squares off with 20-year-old phenom Ilimbek Akylbek Uulu in a battle between two of the world’s most promising rising stars.
