ONE Championship opens 2026 with a bang as ONE Friday Fights 138 lands at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, on January 16, broadcasting live in Asia primetime.

The evening’s 14-bout lineup spans Muay Thai, MMA, and kickboxing, with athletes competing for the ultimate prize — a US$100,000 contract and promotion to ONE Championship’s main roster.

Thailand’s Pompet PongSuphan PK headlines against compatriot Decho Por Borirak in a flyweight Muay Thai showdown that could steal the show.

The 27-year-old Pompet enters with a decorated 109-47 record, having made waves with a lightning-quick 75-second finish of Duangsompong Jitmuangnon. His recent run includes wins over Yodlekpet Or Atchariya and a dominant performance against Gregor Thom last November, where he dropped the Scotsman three times en route to a second-round stoppage.

The 22-year-old Decho looks to capture his fourth ONE victory after an impressive redemption story. Following consecutive victories over Isannuea ChotBangsaen and a tough loss to Suriyanlek Por Yenying, he bounced back with authority in the rematch, earning a clear unanimous decision over the Tor Sangtiennoi fighter that proved his mettle.

Both men carry serious stopping power, setting the stage for a potential fight-ending sequence at any second.

The strawweight Muay Thai co-main event pits Chartpayak Saksatoon against Ayad Albadr in what shapes up as an action-packed thriller.

The 27-year-old Thai exploded onto the scene with four straight stoppages before compiling a 7-0 ONE record. After Lebanese standout Ramadan Ondash handed him his first setback last June, the Kiatpet representative answered emphatically with a commanding three-round performance over Samandar Khasanov at ONE Friday Fights 133.

The 24-year-old Albadr brings his own finishing credentials after consecutive spectacular knockouts. The Team Mehdi Zatout athlete delivered a crushing uppercut to Nuapet TDed99 before sending Petlampun Muadablampang crashing to the canvas in devastating fashion.

This striker-versus-striker battle guarantees entertainment until someone hits the deck.

In the featured fight of the evening, unbeaten Ubaid “Bad” Hussain returns to action with his spotless 13-0 record on the line in flyweight Muay Thai competition.

The 20-year-old from Leeds has turned heads through four ONE appearances, collecting three decision wins plus a first-round finish. Another impressive showing brings him one step closer to that life-changing contract.

Across the ring stands Brazil Aekmuangnon, hunting his sixth promotional victory. The 20-year-old closed out 2025 with a second-round TKO of Soufiane Mejdoubi, showcasing the seasoned toughness that’s troubled many opponents despite his young age.

For Hussain, it’s about maintaining perfection against his stiffest challenge. For Brazil, it’s a chance to hand the undefeated Brit his first career loss and announce himself as a serious contender.

Lower on the card, Malaysia’s Rifdean Masdor faces Indonesia’s Mohamad “Rocky” Redho in atomweight Muay Thai action. The hard-hitting Malaysian has gone 4-1 in his five ONE Friday Fights appearances, including three destructive first-round finishes. Victory for the 23-year-old could see him join fellow Malaysians Johan Ghazali and Aliff Sor Dechapan in earning the coveted contract and advancing to ONE’s global roster.

The international kickboxing flavor continues with China’s Sheng Yi Hang taking on Japan’s Shoma Okumura at strawweight, while Cape Verde’s Diogo Miguel Silva meets Japan’s Kazuteru Yamazaki in flyweight. Mexico’s Anuar Cisneros will battle Japan’s Shun Shiraishi in another flyweight matchup.

On the MMA side, Argentina’s Lucas Ganin squares off with Belarus’ Ilyas Eziyeu in bantamweight action, while Akhmed Rabadanov faces New Zealand’s Arshia Ebadi at lightweight.
