About Chris Ngimbi
Status: Former ONE Athlete
Being a WKA Muay Thai World Champion, It’s Showtime 70MAX World Champion, and SUPERKOMBAT Champion, Chris Ngimbi is one of the very best strikers to have emerged from the African continent. Most impressively, he achieved all of that through pure hard work and dedication, having been raised in greatly adverse circumstances.
Born in Zaire, which is now known as the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ngimbi’s family was fortunate enough to move to the Netherlands when he was 11 years old and escape from the civil war and general unrest in search of a brighter future. In memory of his heritage and all that he went through growing up during this time, Ngimbi took the nickname of “The African Warrior.”
While living in the Netherlands, his life changed at the age of 17, when he was invited to a kickboxing class by a friend. He was hooked instantly, and after just three months, was already stepping into the ring to compete for the first time. Since then, Ngimbi has faced some of the biggest names in kickboxing, such as Giorgio Petrosyan, and now joins the Italian alongside the world’s best strikers in ONE Super Series.
