The Inner Circle On June 5 Main Event Result: Kongchai Stops Strungari With Ruthless First-Round Knockout
Former Rajadamnern Stadium Muay Thai World Champion Kongchai Chanaidonmueang moved one step closer to a six-figure contract with a stunning first-round knockout of Valerii Strungari in the main event of The Inner Circle on Friday, June 5. The strawweight Muay Thai bout aired exclusively on live.onefc.com in Asia primetime from Bangkok’s historic Lumpinee Stadium.
Any questions about the Tor Sangtiennoi representative’s finishing instinct were answered emphatically. Strungari established center ring early, walking Kongchai back with punch-heavy combinations. The 23-year-old Thai kept his guard high and began chopping away with low kicks.
The shift came when Kongchai timed the forward-pressing Moldovan striker with a stinging left-hand counter that stopped him in his tracks. Rattled, Strungari reached for a spinning elbow, but Kongchai shrugged it off and unloaded a left hook to the body followed by a cross upstairs.
Kongchai kept coming. A sharp left hand dug deep into the midsection, and a crushing knee hammered the same spot immediately after. Strungari buckled, and a second knee caught him flush to the head on the way down.
Strungari hit the canvas with a grimace of pain and could not rise before the count at 1:32 of the first round. With the victory, Kongchai pushed his career record to 79-16, capping a dominant four-fight winning streak.
In the co-main event, Yuan Pengjie used a blistering mid-range assault to spoil Jaosuayai Mor Krungthepthonburi‘s promotional kickboxing debut via unanimous decision. The Chinese star improved to 40-4 with the biggest win of his career.
