Supergirl Returns Against Yu Yau Pui In Atomweight Muay Thai War At ONE Fight Night 41
Thai sensation Anna “Supergirl” Jaroonsak will make her long-awaited return to the ring when she faces Hong Konger Yu Yau Pui in a crucial atomweight Muay Thai battle at ONE Fight Night 41: Rodrigues vs. Phetjeeja on Prime Video.
The action goes down live in U.S. primetime from the world-famous Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, on Friday, March 13, and each woman desperately wants to leave the historic venue with a victory.
After two years away from competition to focus on herself, “Supergirl” was slated to make her return against Bulgaria’s Teodora Kirilova at ONE Fight Night 34 in August 2025. The Thai, however, failed to pass her hydration test. As a result, the bout was removed from the card.
Now, several months later, the 22-year-old is ready for her second act, and she will look to reclaim her momentum against a dangerous opponent.
“Supergirl,” the little sister of fellow ONE Championship athlete Nat “Wondergirl” Jaroonsak, became the youngest striker to compete in the world’s largest martial arts organization in September 2020. The Thai, then 16 years old, made her promotional debut at ONE: A NEW BREED II, where she knocked out Milagros Lopez in one minute flat.
“Supergirl” then fought tooth and nail against Belarusian veteran Ekaterina “Barbie” Vandaryeva, claiming a hard-fought split-decision victory.
In January 2023, she faced the biggest test of her career when she stood toe-to-toe with three-sport megastar Stamp Fairtex in a kickboxing war. She surprised with her gritty performance, but ultimately lost via split decision.
Later that year, she returned to winning ways against WBC Muay Thai World Champion Lara Fernandez, but she ended 2023 with a heartbreaking knockout loss to ISKA Kickboxing World Champion Cristina Morales.
The defeat, combined with negative comments from online trolls, nearly led “Supergirl” to quit the fight game. But the resilient star has persevered and now, she is ready to showcase the explosive spear knees that have made her a fan favorite.
Standing across from her is Yu, who carries her own redemption storyline into the ring.
The 32-year-old southpaw earned her global roster contract through five consecutive victories at ONE Friday Fights. Then, she impressed with a unanimous decision win over Fernandez in her U.S. primetime debut back in March 2024.
However, Yu has dropped two straight contests against European opponents Amy Pirnie and Martyna Dominczak, ending a five-year winning streak. Now, she’s determined to display the relentless attacking style that originally earned her recognition from ONE Championship’s global fan base.
This women’s atomweight Muay Thai clash promises fireworks, as both fighters look to rebound from recent adversity and prove they stand with the division’s finest.
