Superbon To Rematch Marat Grigorian For Interim Featherweight Kickboxing World Title At ONE Friday Fights 58

Two of the planet’s most feared and accomplished strikers are set to run it back with interim gold on the line.

On April 5, in the main event of ONE Friday Fights 58, former featherweight kickboxing kingpin Superbon Singha Mawynn will square off with Armenian icon Marat Grigorian for the ONE Interim Featherweight Kickboxing World Title.

Slated to air live in Asia primetime, this massive showdown will mark the third meeting between these knockout artists and their second in the world’s largest martial arts organization.

Meanwhile, reigning ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Championship Chingiz “Chinga” Allazov is taking some time off before returning to action later this year.

Superbon and Grigorian first clashed in 2018 outside of ONE. The Armenian won that contest by knockout and then claimed the Glory Kickboxing World Title later that year.

Four years later, at ONE X in March 2022, the Thai would earn his revenge, securing a hard-fought, five-round decision over Grigorian to successfully defend his ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Title for the second time.

Superbon lost his gold to current divisional king Allazov in early 2023.

However, he’s remained active with a highlight-reel knockout of Tayfun Ozcan last June at ONE Fight Night 11 and then a narrow decision loss to reigning ONE Featherweight Muay Thai World Champion Tawanchai PK Saenchai in December.

Those performances kept the 33-year-old Thai firmly among the world’s top pound-for-pound strikers.

Grigorian has also stayed busy since losing to Superbon, also defeating Ozcan before coming up short against Allazov in his bid for the featherweight kickboxing gold.

And in his most recent outing in January at ONE 165, the 32-year-old appeared in top form when he scored a sensational knockout against longtime rival Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong.

Now, #1-ranked Superbon and #2-ranked Grigorian are yet again ready to throw down in a World Title fight that promises fireworks.
