Stamp Fairtex Targets World Title Fight Against Xiong Jing Nan: ‘I Want To Challenge Myself’

Stamp Fairtex can never be accused of dreaming small.

This past September at ONE Fight Night 14 on Prime Video, the Thai megastar defeated Ham Seo Hee to claim the undisputed ONE Women’s Atomweight MMA World Title, making her an unprecedented three-sport queen after previously holding ONE World Titles in kickboxing and Muay Thai.

The 25-year-old is now hoping to collect yet another golden belt.

In fact, she’s setting her sights on one of the organization’s longest-reigning titleholders – ONE Women’s Strawweight MMA World Champion “The Panda” Xiong Jing Nan.

Stamp told onefc.com:

“Xiong Jing Nan, I feel like she is the only challenge I want to try right now.”

If Stamp indeed moves up in weight to vie for a fourth World Title, she’ll be taking on perhaps the stiffest test of her career.

Xiong captured the women’s strawweight MMA crown in January 2018 and has since defended it seven times to establish herself as one of the sport’s top pound-for-pound fighters – and one of its most ferocious punchers.

And like Stamp, the Chinese knockout artist loves seeking out new challenges, as she recently defeated Muay Thai sensation Nat “Wondergirl” Jaroonsak in a first-of-its-kind special rules striking contest.

Those accomplishments are exactly why Stamp so badly wants to face “The Panda.” For the Fairtex Training Center product, it’s all about testing herself at higher and higher levels.

She said:

“My next goal is to move up to fight Xiong Jing Nan in her division. I want to challenge myself to see how far I can go.”

Stamp Also Eyes A Special Rules Fight

Adding a fourth World Title to her trophy case isn’t the only goal for Stamp Fairtex.

Back in January, she was slated to face striking legend Anissa Meksen in a special rules Muay Thai and MMA bout. That contest fell through just days before the event, with Stamp going on to battle Anna “Supergirl” Jaroonsak in an epic kickboxing clash.

The Thai still wants to compete in a special rules fight – whether a blend of sports or an all-striking contest similar to the bout Xiong Jing Nan participated in:

“If possible, I want to fight in special rules with MMA and Muay Thai. I missed this opportunity once.  I’m interested in boxing in small gloves with special rules, as well.

“I feel like I want to try something new with special rules. These new challenges will inspire me to work harder and succeed more.”

Ultimately, the newly crowned atomweight MMA queen is motivated to reach for bigger challenges because she knows they will push her to continue evolving as a well-rounded, world-class martial artist.

Stamp added:

“I think I still have room to grow. I believe I can develop my potential even further.”
