It did not take too long for Sorgraw to settle into a rhythm.

Sana — a WBC & A1 Muay Thai World Champion — played the aggressor, charging at the 25-year-old Thai early, and frequently, in the opening round.

However, that style of attack played right into Sorgraw’s strengths, as he retaliated with stinging punches and hard body kicks, which reverberated throughout the Thuwunna Indoor Stadium in Yangon, Myanmar.

Sana repeatedly went after Sorgraw, but could not seem to get his timing down. He came up just short on his punches and kicks despite having a solid reach advantage.

The repeated ducking and dodging from the Thai certainly had an effect on Sana’s ability to press forward, as the 29-year-old Paris, France resident was constantly swinging at air throughout the first two rounds of the contest.

In return, Sorgraw was loose on his feet, and he constantly found a home for his counter strikes, including one beautifully-timed right hand that landed like a sledgehammer on his rival’s chin.

Once the third round got underway, it was clear Sana needed to mount some offense, and that is when he finally landed his best combination of the entire contest.

In an exchange of kicks, where each athlete was grabbing a leg and looking to capitalize, it was Sana who finally connected with a huge right hand that dropped the Lumpinee Stadium World Champion.

Though it was an exhilarating moment, Sorgraw quickly returned to his feet. He was composed in the face of constant pressure from Sana, who was gunning for the finish with the clock working against him.

With minutes turning into seconds, the Thai showed his willingness to engage with no fear of reprisal, and he turned up the pressure to ensure he secured the unanimous decision victory in the 72 kg catchweight bout.

Sorgraw elevates his career record to 37-17, and proves why he was such a heralded addition to ONE Super Series.
