Smilla Sundell, Mohammed Boutasaa Both Confirmed For ONE Friday Fights 18

Smilla Sundell and Mohammed Boutasaa return at ONE Friday Fights 18

A pair of high-profile strikers are officially scheduled to make their returns at ONE Friday Fights 18 in Asia primetime on May 26 at the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

ONE Women’s Strawweight Muay Thai World Champion Smilla “The Hurricane” Sundell will square off against Serbian sensation Milana Bjelogrlic in a non-World Title catchweight kickboxing affair of 128 pounds.

Also on the card is Moroccan rising star Mohammed “Too Sharp” Boutasaa, who will take on Iranian foe Mohammed Siasarani in a featherweight kickboxing contest.

Sundell Vs. Bjelogrlic

Sundell captured the inaugural ONE Women’s Strawweight Muay Thai World Title back in April 2022 when she was just 17 years old, earning a hard-fought decision over Filipino-American Jackie Buntan.

The Swede’s first fight in over a year will now come under kickboxing rules, perhaps signaling her intention to vie for two-sport glory and become the inaugural strawweight kickboxing queen.

Standing across from “The Hurricane” will be promotional newcomer Bjelogrlic.

Tall and lanky for the strawweight division, the 20-year-old debutant trains out of the famed Tiger Muay Thai gym and owns a wealth of experience, including a WAKO Amateur Kickboxing World Title.

Boutasaa Vs. Siasarani

The high-flying and ultra-entertaining Boutasaa hopes to bounce back into the win column after a competitive decision loss to Thai legend Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong at ONE on Prime Video 3 last October. The defeat was the first of the Moroccan’s professional career.

The 23-year-old has impressed fans through two captivating appearances in ONE, garnering plenty of attention for his flamboyant and fearless style of striking, with all the makings of a longtime superstar.

However, he’ll face a stiff test in the form of Siasarani.

The 20-year-old Venum Training Camp representative comes into the bout brimming with confidence following a majority decision victory over Thai veteran Avatar PK Saenchai at ONE Friday Fights 2 in January.
