Pivotal Welterweight MMA Clash Between Isi Fitikefu And Hiroyuki Tetsuka Set For ONE 168: Denver

A high-stakes welterweight MMA showdown is headed to Ball Arena for ONE 168: Denver on Friday, September 6.

Surging veteran Hiroyuki “Japanese Beast” Tetsuka will square off against dangerous finisher Isi “Doxz” Fitikefu in an explosive matchup between two of the division’s leading contenders.

At 34 years old, Tetsuka currently looks to be in the best shape of his MMA career, and he’ll come into this contest riding an impressive five-bout winning streak dating back to 2021.

A well-rounded mixed martial artist with crushing strength and shocking power, the Japanese standout has earned stoppage victories – three submissions and two knockouts – throughout that streak.

Tetsuka is aware that another win, this time on a blockbuster North American fight card, could erase any doubt that he’s next in line for a crack at Christian “The Warrior” Lee‘s ONE Welterweight MMA World Championship.

“Japanese Beast” said:

“I want to finish the fight, whether by striking or grappling, and extend my finishing streak to six. I want to demonstrate that there are no more opponents for me and connect this to a title shot against Lee.”

While Tetsuka has visions of gold in his future, Fitikefu has other plans.

The Tongan-Australian dynamo suffered his lone career blemish – a narrow split-decision loss in his promotional debut – back in November 2022.

However, Fitikefu bounced back with a spectacular first-round submission victory over Brazilian knockout artist Valmir Da Silva in April 2023.

Boasting an 8-1 career record that includes six highlight-reel stoppage wins, “Doxz” has all the physical tools and ruthless finishing instincts to put an end to Tetsuka’s streak and earn a shot at the ONE Welterweight MMA World Title himself.

Stylistically, fans are in for a treat when these two elite welterweights lock horns. Both men possess deep gas tanks, a fearless approach to combat, and the skills to end the match at a moment’s notice from practically any position.
