ONE Championship continues to stack the deck for the inaugural edition of ONE SAMURAI 1. The world’s largest martial arts organization recently revealed a blockbuster World Title fight alongside four explosive matchups, as reigning ONE Atomweight Muay Thai World Champion Nadaka makes his highly anticipated first title defense against Thai destroyer Songchainoi Kiatsongrit.

The monumental event will also feature Japanese technician Shimon Yoshinari colliding with Malaysian-American teenage phenom Johan “Jojo” Ghazali in flyweight Muay Thai. Multi-time K-1 World Champion “The Purple Comet” Hiromi Wajima meets Ricardo Bravo in a high-stakes featherweight kickboxing clash, and promotional newcomer Toki Tamaru takes on Toma Kuroda in an all-Japanese atomweight kickboxing war.

These exhilarating bouts will take place at the first edition of the new monthly event series, broadcasting live on Wednesday, April 29, from the iconic Ariake Arena in Tokyo, Japan.

In the championship centerpiece, 25-year-old Nadaka will put his 26 pounds of gold on the line against Songchainoi in a clash between two of the division’s most accomplished strikers.

Representing Eiwa Sports Gym, the Japanese prodigy brings a staggering 66-6 career striking record and a flawless 4-0 promotional mark into his first title defense.

Earning his shot at the inaugural ONE Atomweight Muay Thai World Championship at ONE 173 last year, Nadaka delivered an absolute masterclass performance in front of his passionate home crowd. He systematically outclassed Thai veteran Numsurin Chor Ketwina to capture the belt and cement his status as a generational talent.

Boasting a trophy case that already includes Rajadamnern Stadium, Lumpinee Stadium, WMC, and WBC Muay Thai World Titles, he has conquered virtually every major accolade the sport has to offer at just 25 years old.

Known globally for his blinding speed and exceptional fight IQ, Nadaka faces a terrifying challenger in Songchainoi.

Representing Kiatsongrit Muay Thai Gym, the Thai dynamo carries a 60-18 striking record and an incredible 10-1 promotional slate. After making his ONE debut in 2023, he secured five straight victories to earn a life-changing six-figure contract, extending his winning streak to nine consecutive fights at his absolute peak.

Fresh off a dominant victory over Salai Htan Khee Shein last October, Songchainoi views this monumental title challenge as the ultimate opportunity to shock the champion and silence the Japanese crowd.

In flyweight Muay Thai action, 21-year-old Japanese technician Shimon will lock horns with 19-year-old Malaysian-American sensation Ghazali.

Boasting a 25-1 career record and an undefeated ONE slate, the highly technical Shimon aims to protect his perfect promotional record and build undeniable momentum toward World Title contention.

Standing across the Circle is Ghazali. Representing Superbon Training Camp with a 27-9 career record and an 8-3 promotional mark, the teenage phenom has violently returned to form. Securing consecutive victories over Zakaria El Jamari and Ye Yint Naung, he has fully reclaimed the explosive finishing ability that made him a global superstar.

Having burst onto the scene with a 16-second knockout at just 16 years old, Ghazali seeks to prove his recent resurgence is permanent against a technically flawless Japanese opponent.

In the featherweight kickboxing ranks, 31-year-old multi-time K-1 Champion Wajima will face 26-year-old Argentine powerhouse Bravo in a massive crossroads battle.

“The Purple Comet” brings a 22-7 career record with 18 devastating knockout victories, showcasing the heavy hands that made him a K-1 king. Making his ONE debut against then-ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion Nabil Anane, the Japanese veteran suffered a tough unanimous decision loss.

Now, he plans to firmly establish his footprint in the star-studded division by securing his first promotional victory.

Bravo desperately needs a win of his own. After earning a main roster contract behind three epic finishes at ONE Friday Fights, the Argentine striker has suffered two consecutive setbacks.

He arrives in Tokyo absolutely determined to prove his early success was no fluke and that his finishing power translates to the highest levels of competition.

Finally, 24-year-old promotional newcomer Tamaru will make his highly anticipated ONE debut against 25-year-old Kuroda in an all-Japanese atomweight kickboxing showdown.

Representing Forward Gym, Kuroda brings 15 career victories but has struggled to find his footing on the global stage, managing just one win against Russia’s Kirill Chizhik in 2025.

This compelling matchup creates a massive sense of urgency. Tamaru seeks to boldly announce his arrival on the global stage, while Kuroda will fight tooth and nail to validate his place on the elite roster.
