‘My Signature Knees’ – Supergirl Teases Game Plan For Yu Yau Pui Ahead Of ONE Fight Night 41
Thai striking phenom Anna “Supergirl” Jaroonsak is determined to make her long-awaited return count when she faces Hong Kong’s Yu Yau Pui in an atomweight Muay Thai contest at ONE Fight Night 41: Sinsamut vs. Jarvis on Prime Video.
The Supergirl Jaroonsak Gym representative will meet the 32-year-old striker on Friday, March 13, broadcasting live in U.S. primetime from Bangkok’s Lumpinee Stadium.
The 22-year-old brings 40 career Muay Thai victories into this crucial comeback fight, having established herself as one of Thailand’s most exciting young strikers.
Supergirl has been away from the ring for an extended period, facing significant challenges both inside and outside the ring. At one point, she seriously considered quitting fighting altogether after struggling with negativity from online trolls.
However, maturity and perspective have helped her navigate the mental challenges that come with being a public figure:
“I admit I was quite fed up with social media. I still see negative comments occasionally, but I try to focus only on the people who love and support me. Those haters wouldn’t dare say those things to my face anyway. With age, I’ve learned to manage my thoughts better. I wouldn’t say I don’t feel anything at all, but I try to keep a positive outlook.”
The 5-foot-8 striker’s last scheduled fight against Bulgarian star Teodora Kirilova in August 2025 fell through after she missed weight.
The setback was particularly devastating for the young Thai fighter who had been eagerly awaiting her opportunity to compete.
When asked about that difficult experience, she opened up about the regret she still carries.
The Thai phenom shared:
“The last time I was scheduled to fight, I missed weight. I informed my opponent that I was willing to pay the penalty fee, but they refused to fight, so the match was cancelled. It was incredibly regrettable because I had been waiting so long for that opportunity and was eager to compete.”
Despite the adversity, Supergirl has found motivation to continue her martial arts journey.
Jaroonsak, who made her promotional debut in 2020 at just 16 years old by knocking out her opponent in 60 seconds, rediscovered her passion by revisiting her past performances and remembering what she’s fighting for.
Watching old fight footage reminded her why she fell in love with Muay Thai in the first place, reigniting the competitive fire that had temporarily dimmed.
The Supergirl Jaroonsak Gym product said:
“Sometimes, I look back at my old fight clips, and it gives me a spark of motivation to get back in the ring. Ultimately, I want to fight for my family, including my dogs and cats at home — I have nine of them now!”
Supergirl Plans To Use Complete Arsenal Against Hong Kong Warrior
Anna Jaroonsak has studied Yu Yau Pui’s aggressive style extensively during her preparation for Friday’s atomweight Muay Thai showdown.
The young explosive striker recognizes exactly what makes her opponent so dangerous while also identifying specific weaknesses she plans to exploit.
However, Anna believes Yu’s aggressive nature also creates opportunities for counter-strikes. The Hong Kong striker’s willingness to press forward sometimes compromises her defensive responsibility, potentially leaving openings for Anna’s signature knees and elbows.
Supergirl explained:
“Yu Yau Pui’s scariest strength is her heart. She is incredibly tough and keeps pressing forward relentlessly. I have to find a way to counter her, so she isn’t the only one attacking. Her weakness, however, is that she isn’t very skilled in the Muay Thai clinch game. I’m ready to use my more comprehensive set of weapons to attack her.
“My advantage this time is my height and reach. My weapons should be sharper, and if I land a clean shot, it could definitely drop her. Besides my signature knees, I’ve been adding more focus on my punches and elbows.”
After such a long layoff, Supergirl plans to approach the opening round strategically while remaining ready to capitalize on any opportunity that presents itself.
With both fighters coming off losses and looking to restore their reputations, she expects a high-intensity battle.
The 22-year-old concluded:
“In the first round, I might focus on feeling things out and not being reckless because I need to warm up my body to get used to combat again. But the opportunity to finish the fight can happen at any moment, especially with 4-ounce gloves. We both want to win to regain the fans’ faith. I will fight my hardest to be the one who gets the victory.”
