As soon as the first bell sounded, the two athletes frantically traded strikes. Then Miao shot for a takedown and worked from top position, but he was unable to do any damage.

Both men got back to their feet and “The Jaguar” secured a takedown of his own. The Filipino athlete transitioned to full mount then took Miao’s back, only for the Chinese athlete to reverse position and secure half-guard. Miado showed he was more than a one-dimensional striker as he switched his hips to lock up an armbar and nearly force a tap.

Miao escaped the submission attempt then punished the Filipino with ground and pound. Once back on their feet, he twice took hold of his rival’s neck with a standing guillotine, but could not finish with either effort.

After the Chinese athlete let go of his submission attempt, the contest caught fire with a wild striking exchange, but “The Jaguar” ended it in an instant when he took flight and landed a thunderous flying knee.

The strike sent Miao crashing onto the canvas, out cold, and the contest came to a sudden halt at the 3:01 mark.

The electrifying knockout placed the Filipino Blaze FC Strawweight Champion back in the winner’s circle as he improved his mixed martial arts record to 9-4.
