‘I Won’t Let It Slip Away’ – Detchawalit Chases Fifth-Straight Knockout And Life-Changing Contract At The Inner Circle 21
Detchawalit Silkmuaythai finishes fights. Four opponents have learned that the hard way, and a fifth could be next in line at The Inner Circle 21 on Friday, July 10.
The 18-year-old returns to action in a bantamweight Muay Thai matchup against French striker Tom “No Time” Casse inside Bangkok’s iconic Lumpinee Stadium. The Asia primetime card streams exclusively for subscribers at live.onefc.com.
A fifth highlight-reel triumph could be the key to the life-changing US$100,000 main roster contract. His most recent outing, though, reminded him exactly what stands between ambition and reward.
After racking up three successive first-round finishes, capped by a 25-second destruction of Saw Min Min this past February, the Silk Muay Thai star was pushed into the second round for the first time in his promotional career in the main event of ONE Friday Fights 146.
Denis Dotsenko‘s unorthodox footwork and willingness to fire back gave the teenager genuine problems, and for a stretch in round two, the finishing streak looked in real jeopardy.
Detchawalit reflected:
“I planned to push the pace from the opening bell. I really wanted to get a quick finish. But he was moving so fast, and I could barely land anything.
“After throwing so many shots and missing, I started to gas out. That’s how I got caught with that big punch in round two. To be honest, I almost threw in the towel right there. But luckily he got a bit careless too, which opened up a gap for me to counter.”
The experience gave him a clearer picture of what the Casse matchup demands, and the young gun has studied his next opponent with the attention of a fighter who knows complacency nearly cost him everything last time out.
Detchawalit’s verdict on the 26-year-old Frenchman is measured, specific, and carries the weight of a fighter who has done his homework thoroughly.
The Thai said:
“Tom is a highly technical fighter. He’s comfortable fighting both on the outside and in the clinch. His biggest strength is his agility. If he’s the one dictating the pace, he’s great at timing his shots.
“Plus, he packs power in every strike – especially his hands. I’m sure his punching power is heavier than Denis’, so I absolutely cannot afford to get caught again.”
Respect for Casse’s toolkit is one thing. The hunger to add a fifth name to a knockout ledger building toward the biggest reward in the promotion is another entirely.
At 18 years old, with a 50-5 career record and the biggest reward in the promotion within striking distance, Detchawalit is not arriving at The Inner Circle 21 to leave anything on the table.
He said:
“I want to get my fifth straight finish and chase that contract. But at the same time, I’m not going to put too much pressure on myself. I’m just going to let the fight flow naturally.
“If the finish isn’t presenting itself, I won’t take crazy risks just to trade blows; I’ll be smart about it. But if an opportunity to close the show pops up, I promise you I won’t let it slip away.”
A New Detchawalit Is Coming
The commitment to fighting smart rather than simply fighting hard is something fans should take note of. Detchawalit Silkmuaythai’s return at The Inner Circle 21 may not produce a quickfire finish, but the young gun is completely comfortable with that.
His work at Silk Muay Thai has led to a version of him that will step through the ropes this Friday carrying the same finishing instinct, wrapped in a sharper tactical framework.
He shared:
“Everyone is going to see a much smarter and more calculated version of me. I need to stay calm, manage my gas tank, and pick my shots carefully.
“The goal is to force him onto his back foot so he can’t fight his game. The more I make him back up, the less dangerous and lighter his strikes will become.”
The blueprint is clear. Now, what remains is execution. If four ONE Championship appearances have proven anything, it is that Detchawalit tends to deliver when the moment demands it most.
What Casse brings technically is not lost on Detchawalit – but technical complexity has never been enough to neutralize raw, 4-ounce-glove finishing power.
He concluded:
“I’ve got the edge in terms of raw power and impact. From what I’ve seen, his fight IQ is no joke either.
“Tom is definitely different from the four guys I’ve fought because of how technical he is, but personally, I don’t think he’s the most dangerous.”
