‘I Never Underestimate Anyone’ – Rambolek Outlines Game Plan Against Dmitrii Kovtun At ONE Fight Night 32

Rambolek Chor Ajalaboon Parham Gheirati ONE Fight Night 29 55

Rambolek Chor Ajalaboon plans to bring his trademark aggression and ruthless finishing abilities to Bangkok’s iconic Lumpinee Stadium when he faces surging Russian striker Dmitrii “The Silent Assassin” Kovtun in a pivotal bantamweight Muay Thai clash.

Currently ranked #5 in the division, the Thai contender hopes to extend his three-fight winning streak at ONE Fight Night 32: Rodrigues vs. Cohen on Prime Video, which goes down in U.S. primetime on Friday, June 6.

Rambolek comes into the contest fresh off a devastating stoppage victory over Parham Gheirati in March at ONE Fight Night 29.

Now loaded with momentum and hard-earned confidence, he spoke to onefc.com about his upcoming opponent:

“Dmitrii Kovtun is a good fighter, no doubt. I never underestimate anyone. But I watched his fights and came up with a plan to deal with him in the ring.”

Kovtun has quietly become the bantamweight Muay Thai division’s “Thai Killer,” boasting victories over the likes of Ferrari Fairtex and Suablack Tor Pran49.

For his part, Rambolek has done his homework on the Russian and has identified potential weaknesses to exploit.

Despite “The Silent Assassin’s” dangerous left-handed game, Rambolek was quick to point out that he is no stranger to defeating southpaw strikers, previously overcoming Thai knockout artist “Left Meteorite” Kulabdam Sor Jor Piek Uthai:

“[Kovtun] seems to run out of steam towards the end and doesn’t really have a tight defense. He likes to wait and counter. His strength is his left hook, but I have no problem with his southpaw style. Don’t forget I beat Kulabdam, and he’s a southpaw, too.”

A master tactician with show-stopping power, Rambolek aims to bring a strategic approach to his scrap with Kovtun.

Specifically, he plans to fire away with his venomous kicks and, if the opportunity presents itself, score his fourth highlight-reel finish in ONE:

“For this fight, I’ll probably focus more on the kicks because Dmitrii doesn’t defend them too well. If I see an opening to knock him out, I’m going for it.”

Rambolek Wants Jonathan Haggerty Next

Rambolek Chor Ajalaboon is supremely focused on the task at hand.

Still, the 22-year-old phenom isn’t shying away from discussing his long-term ambitions in ONE’s talent-packed bantamweight Muay Thai division:

“My ultimate goal isn’t just to keep my name in the rankings; it’s to climb all the way to the World Championship level.”

Rambolek’s showdown with Dmitrii Kovtun at ONE Fight Night 32 will be critical not only to defend his spot in the top-five rankings but also to keep his World Title aspirations alive.

After earning a US$100,000 contract through his unforgettable performances at ONE Friday Fights, Rambolek now has his sights set firmly on the division’s elite.

Looking closely at the rankings, he’s most interested in a fight with #2-ranked contender and current ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing World Champion Jonathan “The General” Haggerty:

“The top five guys now? They’re all good. Anyone’s got a shot at the title. But the one I really want to fight? That’s #2, Jonathan Haggerty. I’ll probably try to avoid #1-ranked Superlek, but if it’s what I gotta do, I’ll fight him. After this fight, if I beat Dmitrii, the next name I’m calling out is Haggerty.”
