Danielle Kelly To Face Ayaka Miura In Submission Grappling Match At ONE On Prime Video 7

Danielle Kelly faces Ayaka Miura at ONE on Prime Video 7

Elite Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competitor Danielle Kelly is set for her third appearance inside the Circle, and this time, she’s facing a powerful judo specialist.

At ONE on Prime Video 7: Lineker vs. Andrade II, the American sensation will take on former MMA World Title challenger Ayaka Miura in a 10-minute submission grappling showdown.

This clash of top-tier ground specialists will go down on Friday, February 10, live in North American primetime.

Undefeated in her two ONE Championship bouts, Kelly will look to impress once again and pick up her third consecutive US$50,000 performance bonus.

After competing in the first-ever women’s submission grappling match in ONE Championship history at ONE X this past March, the BJJ black belt returned to action at ONE on Prime Video 4 in November.

That evening, the 27-year-old breezed through Sambo World Champion Mariia Molchanova with a rear-naked choke finish in just over two minutes.

However, Miura will aim to put an end to Kelly’s run of dominance.

With her world-class takedowns and crushing strength from top position, the Japanese superstar has firmly established herself as one of MMA’s most dangerous grapplers.

All of “Zombie’s” four victories inside the Circle have come by way of submission – specifically, a scarf-hold Americana dubbed the “Ayaka Lock.”

This matchup makes for an intriguing clash of grappling styles.

Kelly is a true submission specialist who’s a threat from practically any position. She’s capable of attacking leg locks from her vaunted guard just as well as she can take the back and hunt for chokes.

Miura, meanwhile, has a relatively straightforward yet brutally effective approach. A gifted athlete and a skilled technician, the 32-year-old does her best work when she’s able to secure the takedown, pass the guard, and suffocate her opponent with ferocious top pressure before looking to attack with her trademark Americana.

Given those respective skill sets, fans will be salivating over this high-stakes submission grappling battle.
