ONE Championship is welcoming another Russian phenom to its ranks.

Saygid Izagakhmaev has joined the world’s largest martial arts organization, bringing with him an incredible 19-2 MMA record that includes 14 finishes. To date, he’s been competing at welterweight.

Izagakhmaev’s friend and training partner Khabib Nurmagomedov was quick to share the big news on Tuesday.

“My brother @Saygid_Izagakhmaev has signed a contract with @ONEChampionship and his next fight will be [in] December,” Nurmagomedov posted on his social media accounts.

The mixed martial arts legend also praised ONE Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong for his role in making the deal happen.

“Thank you so much @yodchatri it would be impossible without you, see you my friend, it was nice to meet you,” Nurmagomedov added.

Sityodtong responded: “Thank you for everything, Khabib. See you soon!”

Izagakhmaev hails from the famous fighting region of Dagestan, which is the birthplace of many other ONE stars, including Marat “Cobra” Gafurov, Yusup “Maestro” Saadualev, and Saygid “Dagi” Guseyn Arslanaliev.

While most of his bouts have been fought in his native Russia, Izagakhmaev has competed against international opponents from the likes of Brazil, Italy, Romania, and Kyrgyzstan.

The 27-year-old has also trained alongside Nurmagomedov and other world-class operators at the renowned American Kickboxing Academy in San Jose, California.

Now, the rising star is ready to step up and face elite-level mixed martial artists inside the Circle.

With Izagakhmaev’s debut slated for December, ONE Championship fans will soon witness him in action on the global stage — and it’s possible that a combat sports icon could be standing in his corner.
