Brandon “The Truth” Vera is a man of many talents.

The ONE Heavyweight World Champion is already an icon in the Philippines thanks to his success in the cage, as well as his burgeoning acting career, but he may enter another sphere of influence in the future.

In the latest edition of ONE On ONE With “The Voice” featuring ONE Championship commentator Michael Schiavello, Vera says he is considering a role in Philippine politics, but he will take his time before making that move.

“I’m trying to do a lot, but I take it one day at a time – chin down, hands up, one foot in front of the other – and move slowly.

“The entertainment business – I’m learning so much. It is an art in itself for real. I’m enjoying that, and that’s on its way.

“On the political side, I’m starting to learn about politics in the Philippines and around the world, and I’m starting to pay attention more.

“I would be game to join the political realm if I could actually make a difference and help people.”

For now, Vera is focused on his return to action in the cage. He is targeting a defense of his belt this year, before he moves down a division to challenge for the ONE Light Heavyweight World Title currently held by Aung La N Sang.
