Bampara Kouyate Vs. Shadow Singha Mawynn Muay Thai Clash Added To ONE Fight Night 35

Muay Thai fighters Bampara Kouyate and Shadow Singha Mawynn

A pivotal featherweight Muay Thai battle that could reshape the division’s World Title picture will go down at ONE Fight Night 35: Buntan vs. Hemetsberger on Prime Video.

Second-ranked contender Bampara Kouyate will square off against #3-ranked Shadow Singha Mawynn in a clash that promises fireworks, and whoever emerges victorious could secure the next shot at reigning ONE Featherweight Muay Thai World Champion Tawanchai PK Saenchai‘s coveted belt.

The three-round showdown will broadcast live in U.S. primetime from the legendary Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, on Friday, September 5.

Kouyate, a former WMC Muay Thai World Champion, will step into Bangkok’s most sacred combat sports venue off the heels of back-to-back TKO victories.

First, the 30-year-old French-Malian striker knocked out American sensation Luke “The Chef” Lessei in the third round of their hard-hitting clash in July 2024.

Then, he made a massive statement at ONE 170 this past January by finishing former ONE Featherweight Muay Thai World Title challenger and current #5-ranked contender “Smokin'” Jo Nattawut in the opening stanza.

With a 36-2 professional record, Kouyate has proven that he belongs among the sport’s elite.

Standing across from him will be Shadow, who enters this bout with unfinished business on his mind.

The former Rajadamnern Stadium Muay Thai World Champion earned five decisive victories during his time at ONE Friday Fights, where he beat the likes of former ONE World Title challenger Jimmy Vienot and living legend Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong.

That immaculate run was capped by his second-round knockout of Hassan Vahdanirad at ONE Friday Fights 100 in March, which earned him the six-figure contract.

However, Shadow’s most recent outing against Mohamed Younes Rabah at ONE Fight Night 33 ended in controversial fashion after an accidental eye poke prevented the Algerian from continuing, leading to a no contest.

The match showcases contrasting approaches – Kouyate’s reach advantage and high kicks against Shadow’s timing and close-range elbows.

With the divisional king keeping a close eye on the proceedings, the winner of this clash could potentially find himself as Tawanchai’s next opponent in a battle for the richest prize in the sport.
