‘Aiming For A Decisive Victory’ – Enkh-Orgil Baatarkhuu Determined To Shatter Jhanlo Sangiao’s Perfect Record

Enkh Orgil Adonis Sevilleno ONE Friday Fights 13 26

With his U.S. primetime debut imminent, Enkh-Orgil Baatarkhuu’s motivation is at an all-time high.

After kicking off his promotional run with a pair of impressive victories, the Mongolian warrior will square off against undefeated MMA phenom Jhanlo Sangiao in a bantamweight clash at ONE Fight Night 13: Allazov vs. Grigorian on Prime Video this Friday, August 4.

Baatarkhuu earned a spot on the ONE Championship roster when he won the Road To ONE: Mongolia competition last December.

Since then, he has brilliantly tested his skills on the ONE Friday Fights weekly event series, where he secured a unanimous decision over Sangiao’s teammate Adonis Sevilleno in April and a first-round TKO victory over ONE Warrior Series contract winner Rockie Bactol a month later.

Now, the protege of former ONE Featherweight MMA World Champion Narantungalag Jadambaa will look to take the next step in his blossoming career and try to score his third consecutive victory over a Filipino rising star.

Baatarkhuu said:

“Fighting on a big ONE Fight Night event is definitely a unique and thrilling experience. The scale of the event and the magnitude of the audience can be quite intimidating, but it’s also an incredible opportunity to showcase my skills and prove myself on a grand stage.

“Since my last fight, I’ve been constantly striving for personal and professional growth as a martial artist. Training-wise, I have been working hard to refine my techniques and improve my fighting style.”

Baatarkhuu is in terrific form, as he owns a 9-2 record and rides an eight-fight winning streak. But Sangiao has been invincible thus far, as he holds a perfect 6-0 slate and has finished every opponent inside the first round.

While both athletes have dazzling resumes, only one man will move forward in the division and take a massive leap toward the top-five bantamweight rankings.

The 34-year-old Mongolian holds his 21-year-old rival in high esteem, and he’s done the homework on the unbeaten Filipino ahead of their pivotal clash this Friday.

Baatarkhuu offered:

“I’ve done my research on my opponent and watched some of his previous fights. He’s a highly skilled and promising young athlete, known for his speed and agility in the ring.

“Studying his fighting style has given me a better understanding of what to expect in the upcoming bout.”

Enkh-Orgil Baatarkhuu Sees Composure As Key To Victory

Enkh-Orgil Baatarkhuu is taking a cerebral approach to his bantamweight MMA showdown with Jhanlo Sangiao at ONE Fight Night 13: Allazov vs. Grigorian on Prime Video.

While the Team Lakay prince might have certain benefits from being 13 years his rival’s junior, the Mongolian thinks his veteran experience will help him keep his cool in the face of the anticipated fast start.

Baatarkhuu explained:

“My opponent’s strengths lie in his impressive speed and agility, which can be challenging to counter. To cope with this, I’ll focus on maintaining my composure and staying sharp throughout the fight. I’ll leverage my own strengths and use strategic techniques to neutralize his speed advantage.

“My biggest advantage in this fight will be my well-rounded skill set and the experience gained from previous competitions. I’ll strive to play to my strengths and execute my game plan effectively, while remaining unpredictable and adaptable in the ring.”

Composure is the aim of the game for Baatarkhuu, but he understands that Sangiao is going to push a high pace when the opening bell rings.

However, the Khovd native has also shown the ability to push and maintain a blistering work rate, so it’s likely that their styles will produce a fierce clash from the very start.

Baatarkhuu has thrived in that kind of environment before, and he’s ready to go to war and prove that he belongs among the bantamweight elite.

He said:

“This fight is undoubtedly going to be intense, and I anticipate it will be a hard-fought battle. I’m confident in my abilities and determination to prove myself as a formidable opponent.

“While it’s challenging to predict the exact outcome, I’m focused on giving my best performance and aiming for a decisive victory.”
