ONE 173: Superbon vs. Noiri delivered a blockbuster night of world-class martial arts action on Sunday, November 16, at Tokyo’s iconic Ariake Arena in Japan.
The star-studded card, which aired live via pay-per-view, produced spectacular finishes, emotional victories, and World Championship-defining performances in front of a passionate Japanese crowd and millions watching from around the world.
In the main event, Thai megastar and divisional king Superbon claimed a dominant unanimous decision victory over interim titleholder Masaaki Noiri to become the undisputed ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Champion.
Before the 35-year-old icon dished out a striking masterclass inside the Circle, ONE Flyweight MMA World Champion Yuya “Little Piranha” Wakamatsu successfully defended his gold in his all-champion showdown against strawweight king Joshua “The Passion” Pacio.
Wakamatsu dashed the Filipino’s dreams of two-division glory with a barrage of knees to the head for a TKO win at the 54-second mark of the second round.
Elsewhere, Nadaka was crowned the inaugural ONE Atomweight Muay Thai World Champion, as he took his six-year winning streak to 40 successive victories with a surgical five-round display against Thai dynamo Numsurin Chor Ketwina.
Meanwhile, two-division MMA World Champion Christian “The Warrior” Lee earned the 17th finish of his career against Alibeg Rasulov in their ONE Lightweight MMA World Title rematch.
The rest of the lineup featured no shortage of action, as former three-division K-1 Champion Takeru “Natural Born Krusher” Segawa, ONE Welterweight Submission Grappling World Champion Tye Ruotolo, Suakim Sor Jor Tongprajin, Shamil Erdogan, and Hiroyuki “Japanese Beast” Tetsuka capped an electric night with highlight-reel triumphs.
