The month of March belongs to Team Mehdi Zatout.
Three of the squad’s most popular stars participated in an open workout session in Pattaya, Thailand, this past Tuesday, February 24, and showed off the skills they have been sharpening ahead of their upcoming blockbuster matchups.
Reigning ONE Women’s Atomweight Kickboxing World Champion “The Queen” Phetjeeja Lukjaoporongtom, ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion Nabil Anane, and former two-time ONE Lightweight Muay Thai World Title challenger Sinsamut Klinmee hit pads for the media and sat down for brief interviews.
Phetjeeja: Two-Sport Glory In Sight
Phetjeeja Lukjaoporongtom headlines ONE Fight Night 41 on Prime Video in U.S. primetime on Friday, March 13, where she will attempt to become a two-sport ONE World Champion. In the main event, she challenges ONE Women’s Atomweight Muay Thai World Champion Allycia Hellen Rodrigues for the gold.
The 24-year-old Thai’s rise to the top has been nothing short of extraordinary.
A striker so dominant in her formative years that she earned the nickname “The Girl Who Could Defeat Boys,” Phetjeeja arrived on the ONE Friday Fights stage in 2023 and announced herself with back-to-back TKO victories, which earned her a US$100,000 contract and global roster spot.
“The Queen” added two more Muay Thai wins to her record before switching codes to kickboxing. Then, she defeated French-Algerian legend Anissa “C18” Meksen by unanimous decision to claim the ONE Interim Women’s Atomweight Kickboxing World Title and end her spectacular year on a high note.
Nearly three months later, Phetjeeja bested American striking icon Janet “JT” Todd to become the undisputed ONE Women’s Atomweight Kickboxing World Champion. She would successfully defend her crown and then returned to her Muay Thai roots with a first-round TKO victory last December.
Now, with 210 career wins and an unblemished 8-0 promotional record, she prepares to chase the dream that has driven her career from the beginning – a Muay Thai World Title.
Sinsamut Klinmee: The Redemption Trail
Also on the ONE Fight Night 41 card, Sinsamut Klinmee meets British brawler George “G-Unit” Jarvis in a high-stakes lightweight Muay Thai clash as both men look to return to winning ways.
Sinsamut had a brilliant start to life in ONE Championship, as he registered a pair of second-round knockout victories over multiple-time Kickboxing World Champion Nieky “The Natural” Holzken and British star “Lethal” Liam Nolan.
That led him to an exciting series of matches with Regian “The Immortal” Eersel for the ONE Lightweight Muay Thai World Title, and though he has been unsuccessful in lifting the gold from the Dutch-Surinamese superstar’s waist, the 30-year-old Thai is determined to rebuild some momentum toward a trilogy.
A bounce-back win over Jarvis would go a long way toward rekindling his World Title ambitions.
Nabil Anane: The Young Lion’s First World Title Defense
One week after his teammates compete, Nabil Anane steps into the ring at ONE Friday Fights 147 on Friday, March 20, live in Asia primetime from Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, to make his first ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Title defense against Thai finisher Rambolek Chor Ajalaboon.
The Algerian-Thai sensation made his ONE debut at just 19 years old and suffered an early setback against “The Kicking Machine” Superlek. What followed was a seven-bout winning streak that included an interim World Title victory over “King of the North” Nico Carrillo in January 2025 and a stunning non-title win over Superlek in their rematch two months later. In June, he was subsequently elevated to undisputed ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion.
Since then, Anane has also tested himself in kickboxing at bantamweight and featherweight, facing Ilias Ennahachi and Hiromi Wajima respectively. But now, the 21-year-old returns to the Muay Thai realm to defend his belt against Rambolek, the man who defeated his teammate Abdulla “Smash Boy” Dayakaev just a month ago.
Before the three enter the ring, take a look at the pictures from their open workout session.
