‘A Way To Express Myself’ – Itsuki Hirata Talks Love For Fashion Before Chasing Revenge In Style At ONE SAMURAI 4
Judo built Itsuki “Android 18” Hirata’s fearsome game, but fashion is how she showcases her true personality to the world.
The Japanese martial arts star is currently hunting for revenge and the ninth victory of her professional career against Malaysian rival Jihin “Shadow Cat” Radzuan. The two will collide in a high-stakes atomweight MMA rematch at ONE SAMURAI 4, broadcasting live from Tokyo’s iconic Ariake Arena on Saturday, October 17.
The event will be available to members of The Inner Circle at live.onefc.com.
While her impending sequel demands absolute focus, the 27-year-old possesses an eye for style that perfectly matches her slick moves on the global stage. A quick scroll through Hirata’s Instagram feed reveals a striking range: baggy streetwear one day, a fresh pair of Jordans the next, and sleek fight gear shortly after.
For “Android 18,” dressing up is less about manufactured glamour and more about curating a relaxed look that feels entirely authentic. Fashion stands as one of her biggest passions outside of martial arts, neatly doubling as a window into the person behind the fierce competitor.
Hirata told onefc.com:
“I like dressing up because it makes me feel elevated. I also use fashion as a way to express myself. So when you see my posts on Instagram and social media, that’s just me expressing myself.
“It makes me feel good about myself, and it also motivates me to take care of myself.”
Still, fashion has a specific time and place, and it is certainly not inside the gym. The stylish outfit of the day immediately gives way to the grueling grind at the dojo door.
After all, this particular rematch is deeply personal — and Hirata is treating her fight camp with ruthless intensity. What she wears while logging those punishing hours is a completely different story from the aesthetic her feed portrays, and she is happy to explain the sharp contrast.
She continued:
“In the gym, I don’t really care about fashion. When I’m going to training, I’m always just in a sweater. It’s comfortable, and I can move around easily. There, I take my training seriously. But outside of that, I do care about what I look like.”
Hirata Beyond The Feed
Caring deeply about her personal presentation has never kept Itsuki Hirata from taking the martial arts grind seriously; the two passions comfortably coexist.
With her career on the global stage in full swing and her highly anticipated return at ONE SAMURAI 4 rapidly approaching, the Tokyo native still has plenty left to conquer in the Circle. However, when that athletic chapter eventually closes, a world she already loves is waiting to take center stage.
“Android 18” said:
“I don’t really dress up just so I can post stuff on Instagram. But I do use social media like a diary. In that sense, it’s definitely something I like to do outside of fighting. And I do see myself continuing to do that when my fighting career is over.”
Hirata may be quietly building a future in the fashion industry, but the martial artist in front of the camera has long been turning heads for her natural aura.
Her feed operates as a steady stream of scroll-stopping outfits, leaving plenty of followers wondering what exactly is behind her signature glow. The answer, however, is far more down-to-earth than the curated photos suggest.
The Japanese star added:
“I’m not really that strict [with my diet], to be honest. After my fights, I like to eat and drink just like everyone else. I just don’t post that on Instagram.
“I’m very strong because when I’m training, I work really hard and give it my all. When it comes to my beauty, meanwhile, I think I have to thank my parents for that.”
