Sami Amin hails from Shibin Al Qanatir and has a background in kickboxing. He first started training in MMA three years ago because he was looking for a more exciting combat sport, and his coach took him to train with the fighters at Egyptian Top Team in Cairo.
He made his professional MMA debut in the Egyptian Fighting Championship and won by TKO. He followed that up with another win at EFC 10 the following year. In November 2013, Amin became the EFC Featherweight Champion after winning the vacant belt with a unanimous decision win.
He would go on to defend the belt twice before moving up to lightweight late last year, scoring a decision win on his divisional debut. Amin is a father of two children, and hopes to inspire more Arabs and Egyptians to compete in MMA.
