About Banma Duoji
Banma “The Prince” Duoji was raised in a single-parent home in Chengdu, China. Because his family couldn’t afford the two-dollar tuition needed to attend his local school, Banma was sent to an orphanage — but this wasn’t your usual facility. This orphanage took in impoverished children and trained them to become mixed martial artists.
Originally, Banma was a shy kid, but through fighting he grew more confident and began laying out a path for his life. That path included professional MMA, which he excelled at leading up to his signing with ONE Championship in 2021.
Holding a 13-1 record, Banma debuted against former ONE Strawweight World Champion Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke at ONE: BATTLEGROUND III. However, the global stage of martial arts proved to be a different playing field, and “The Prince” was stopped in round two.
With his first bout in ONE behind him, Banma wants to prove his previous loss was a fluke while showcasing the skills that powered him to 12 finishes.
His next task will be just as challenging as his first, though. He welcomes dangerous Muay Thai veteran Walter Goncalves to MMA action at ONE Fight Night 12 on Prime Video on July 14.
