As a child, SFL Welterweight Champion Amitesh Chaubey was always getting into disputes with his peers, so he started boxing at the age of 13 as a way to strengthen and protect himself. Bitten by the martial arts bug, he moved on to also compete in kickboxing, and won several regional and local tournaments. This prompted him to turn his attention to a professional career in the cage.
After falling in his first two outings, Chaubey intensified his training, and quickly got himself up to speed. He then embarked on a remarkable run in India’s Super Fight League, culminating in a spectacular nine-second knockout of Jason Solomon to capture the SFL Welterweight Championship. A video of that win then went viral across social media, further propelling his career.
Having conquered the Indian scene, he inevitably found his way to the bright lights of ONE Championship, and looks to further his career on the global stage.
