Christian Lee Finishes Kiamrian Abbasov To Win Welterweight Belt And Become Two-Division ONE World Champion

Christian Lee becomes the new ONE Welterweight World Champion

On November 18, Christian “The Warrior” Lee etched his name in the history books by defeating Kiamrian “Brazen” Abbasov to capture the welterweight crown and become a two-division ONE World Champion.

Already the lightweight king, the Singaporean-American staged a remarkable comeback victory to stun Abbasov via fourth-round TKO in the main event of ONE on Prime Video 4 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

The first round was full to the brim with furious back-and-forth action. “Brazen” nearly finished the lightweight titleholder early, dropping him with a massive left hook before flurrying with dozens of heavy punches.

But in a miraculous display of heart and durability, Lee not only survived the barrage – he took Abbasov to the mat and ended the round in top position.

“The Warrior” then pressed the pace in the second frame, mixing his body lock takedowns with venomous striking, and he appeared to gain the upper hand.

The third round saw Lee and Abbasov trading ruthless leather, with the Kyrgyz fighter sporting a bloody and possibly broken nose as he came up short in most of the boxing exchanges.

Meanwhile, the Singaporean-American kept his foot on the gas pedal in the fourth, punishing “Brazen” with concussive punches and a multitude of kicks to the lead leg.

After landing a series of unanswered elbows on the feet, Lee dragged the former ONE Welterweight World Champion to the canvas, moved directly to mount, and rained down thunderous ground strikes until referee Herb Dean stepped in to end the beating at 4:20 of round four.

With the win, the 24-year-old phenom becomes a two-division World Champion in ONE and is undeniably one of the top pound-for-pound MMA fighters on the planet.

Lee’s overall record of 17-4 includes fights in three weight classes, and he added another finish to his promotional record of 16.

Finally, the $50,000 performance bonus that was awarded for the victory will serve as a very sweet cherry on top of a career-topping night for “The Warrior.”
