Wiratchai, Barbosa, Parshikov Earn Wins In Early MMA Bouts At ONE Friday Fights 3

Allisson Barbosa is declared winner at ONE Friday Fights 3

A trio of exciting MMA battles helped get the ball rolling at ONE Friday Fights 3 on February 3.

From standing slugfests to slick submissions, the mixed martial arts stars offered up action in every range on Friday, and the crowd in Bangkok, Thailand, was clearly receptive to the fast-paced battles.

Here’s how it went down inside the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium.

Wiratchai Entertains With First-Round TKO

Bangkok’s Shannon Wiratchai sent his hometown crowd into a frenzy with a first-round TKO win over Poriya Golpour.

Debuting Iranian Golpour tried to wrestle the Thai striker to the canvas in their featherweight battle, but Wiratchai worked hard to stay on his feet, and it paid dividends.

Late in the round, “OneShin” dropped his foe with a short left hand. He followed up with some heavy ground-and-pound to secure the victory at 4:33, bagging his second consecutive win in ONE.

Barbosa Victorious In ONE Debut

Allisson Barbosa enjoyed a dominant one-round showing over ONE veteran Elliot Compton.

BJJ black belt Barbosa seemed to surprise the experienced striker in Compton with his boxing skills in the early running of their lightweight tilt. Then, he switched things up and secured a takedown against the ropes.

The Brazilian attacked for an arm-triangle choke from half-guard. Passing to mount, he cinched it up to get the win at 2:28, pushing his MMA record to 20-8 in the process.

Russian debutants Ivan Parshikov and Dmitriy Babkin opened the show in style with a three-round bantamweight barnburner that drew roars from the Bangkok crowd.

It was a closely contested matchup that increased both men’s stock, but it was Parshikov who earned the unanimous decision victory, bouncing back from a shaky start with a well-rounded show of striking and grappling.

The 24-year-old pushed his record to 10-3 and looks like a solid addition to the bantamweight ranks.
