The Inner Circle On May 29 Main Event Result: Ramadan Ondash Drops Suriyanlek En Route To Victory

Ramadan “The Scorpion” Ondash showcased a new dimension to his striking game en route to a hard-fought unanimous decision win over Suriyanlek Por Yenying in the flyweight Muay Thai main event of The Inner Circle on Friday, May 29, which aired exclusively on live.onefc.com from Bangkok’s historic Lumpinee Stadium.

Ondash opened this Asia primetime battle behind his usual aggression, but stayed true to his promise of using a more varied arsenal. The young gun overwhelmed Suriyanlek with sweeps and a spinning backfist before unleashing his venomous punches to the head and body in range.

In the second round, the 19-year-old phenom had to absorb a high kick from the Thai. He quickly responded by turning up the heat, staggering his foe with a crushing left overhand. Moments later, the Tiger Muay Thai warrior pressured his foe into the ropes and unleashed a barrage of punches to score the fight’s first knockdown. The Thai, though, beat the count and survived another wave of attacks.

However, just moments into the final frame, a triple-hook combination sent Suriyanlek bouncing off the ropes. Somehow, the Thai returned fire with a punching combination of his own that forced Ondash to manage his gas tank more carefully.

Suriyanlek shifted gears and became the aggressor, forcing Ondash onto the back foot. That said, the Lebanese slugger countered with trademark hooks as the Thai continued marching forward. The knockdown in the second stanza proved decisive as all three judges awarded “The Scorpion” with his 13th career win. Shortly after, he called for a dream showdown with Johan “Jojo” Ghazali.

In the co-main event, Ramadan’s elder brother, Abdallah Ondash, left the mecca of Muay Thai with a destructive first-round finish of Denkriangkrai Mavinn Muaythai in their strawweight Muay Thai clash. A crushing right hook to the head badly hurt the Thai, and Ondash added even more damage with a left body kick to emerge victorious at the 1:37 mark of the bout.
