Elbrus “The Samurai” Osmanov delivered on his promise with a dominant first-round stoppage of “Left Meteorite” Ratchasiesan Laochokcharoen in the main event of The Inner Circle on May 1, live in Asia primetime, in Bangkok’s Lumpinee Stadium.
The 24-year-old Russian pressing forward aggressively from the opening bell of their featherweight Muay Thai contest, holding nothing back in search of a ninth promotional triumph. He mixed his strikes with precision and kept the Thai’s trademark weapon away.
Soon, a powerful body shot dropped the Thai veteran for the first knockdown. When Ratchasiesan returned to his feet, the Team Mehdi Zatout and Akhmat Kickboxing standout swarmed him along the ropes with a kick and a flurry of punches for the second eight-count.
Still, the former two-division Lumpinee Stadium Muay Thai World Champion showed insane durability to regain his footing. But it was the last time he was able to do so.
“The Samurai” only needed one more knockdown to wrap his night, and he did so in some fashion.
The young Russian landed a clean crescent kick to the body, folding Ratchasiesan and forcing the referee to wave off the contest at 2:17 of the opening round.
The emphatic victory improved Osmanov’s record to 15-1 and secured him a US$100,000 contract on ONE Championship’s global roster. He wants to avenge his loss to former K-1 Champion Yuki Yoza next – the man who handed him the lone loss on his otherwise perfect resume.
