Stamp Fairtex Wants Another Shot At Angela Lee After Win Over Jihin Radzuan

Stamp Fairtex throws a kick on Jihin Radzuan at ONE on Prime Video 2

Stamp Fairtex showcased her continued evolution as a mixed martial artist with a return to winning ways last Friday, September 30.

At ONE on Prime Video 2, the Thai megastar defeated #5-ranked atomweight Jihin Radzuan via unanimous decision to solidify her position as the #1 contender.

Along with her powerful striking – which included a highlight-reel elbow in the final frame – Stamp came close to finishing Jihin on the ground.

And given the Malaysian’s reputation as a high-level grappler, this was particularly sweet for the former ONE Atomweight Muay Thai and Kickboxing World Champion.

She said afterward:

“I’m very proud because I have been training hard for this. And I was really happy that I was able to almost pull off a rear-naked choke on her in the second round.

“Coach Frank [Marques] and my team at Fairtex have all been training me so hard for this.”

The victory has given Stamp an injection of confidence following her tough defeat to Angela Lee for the ONE Women’s Atomweight World Title in March.

Although the Fairtex star produced a strong showing against Lee – almost taking out the Singaporean-American with a body shot – she was ultimately submitted by the BJJ black belt.

But given her ever-improving ground game, the ONE Women’s Atomweight World Grand Prix Champion is eager to get a rematch against the division’s reigning queen and aim for three-sport supremacy once again.

Stamp said:

“I want to go all the way in MMA. I want to challenge Angela Lee for her World Title again before I go back to Muay Thai and kickboxing.”

Stamp Fairtex Aims To Submit Anissa Meksen In Mixed-Rules Fight

Although she’s eyeing atomweight gold, Stamp Fairtex’s next assignment will come in an MMA x Muay Thai mixed rules super-fight against striking great Anissa Meksen at ONE on Prime Video 6 on January 13.

Both athletes dominated their bouts at ONE on Prime Video 2, and they also traded barbs in the immediate aftermath.

But while pointed comments were exchanged, Stamp respects the French superstar and insists there is no bad blood between them.

The Thai explained:

“Well, they were just challenging words. We’re challenging each other to come out, do our best, and then meet in a fight in January.”

Of course, Stamp is still relishing her chance to defeat the seven-time Kickboxing and Muay Thai World Champion.

She thinks she can hang with Meksen in the stand-up exchanges and then plans to score a finish on the ground in the MMA portion of their contest.

She added:

“For me and Anissa, it really depends on who gets the chance to go first. Because she might have the punches, but I have my elbows.

“The fans might never have seen me taking anyone down, but in January, I’m surely going to take down my opponent. I want to submit her.”
