‘She’s A Real Fighter’ – Stamp Fairtex Respects The Danger Selina Flores Brings To ONE Fight Night 47

Former three-sport ONE World Champion Stamp Fairtex returns to the global stage with one clear goal in mind, and that is to turn heads and put on a show for the fans tuning in.

Her atomweight Muay Thai clash against two-time WBC Muay Thai World Champion Selina “Teep Queen” Flores headlines ONE Fight Night 47 on Prime Video, which will stream live in U.S. primetime from Bangkok’s Lumpinee Stadium this Friday, September 4.

A win over Cynthia Flores at The Inner Circle 20 this past June earned Stamp her first victory after an extended time on the sidelines due to an injury, which required surgery and rehabilitation. 

The 28-year-old was happy enough with the result, but it was the performance behind that split decision that left her unsatisfied. As such, Stamp has made clear this fight carries more weight than simply extending a winning streak.

The Fairtex Training Center athlete said:

“The most important thing in this fight is beating Selina to get my confidence back and restore the fans’ faith in me. I need to redeem myself after the last fight because everyone said my performance was really bad and that I didn’t fight well at all.

“It’s a chance to make up for that. I’ll give it everything I’ve got. I’m excited just like I am for every fight, and I hope this is a fight that people in America will tune in for.”

Flores made it five career wins in a row with a memorable debut display against Marie “The Celtic Queen” McManamon at ONE Fight Night 36. That win, alongside her credentials, is something the three-sport megastar has taken note of ahead of fight night.

However, preparing for an opponent like Flores has meant more than studying fight tape. Stamp, who understands the importance of building her brand, has liked what she’s seen on the American’s social media channels, too.

That extra layer of homework has left her with a clear, respectful read on the American heading into ONE Fight Night 47.

Stamp said:

“I’ve watched her fighting style. She has long legs and long arms, and her teep is good enough that I think she deserves the nickname ‘Teep Queen.’ She’s also good at fighting offensively and defensively.

“Selena likes making videos where she goes around interviewing people and asking if they know how to fight and things like that. I think it’s an interesting way to build an identity and put yourself out there. I’ve seen them. A lot of people call Selena an influencer, but I believe she’s a real fighter.”

Stamp Details Her Path To Victory, Talks About What’s Next

Selina Flores’ strengths aside, Stamp Fairtex believes she has identified the blueprint needed to impose her own game plan and secure the 66th win of her Muay Thai and kickboxing career.

Height and reach have rarely troubled the Fairtex Training Center affiliate throughout her career, and she does not expect that to change here.

She broke down exactly where she believes the fight will be won:

“She leaves her face open when she focuses on strikes, and those moments will leave openings for me to get in and do some damage. I’m the shorter one, too, and I guess being shorter is an advantage. I also think my weapons will be heavier because she might be faster, but I don’t think her attacks are quite as powerful.

“What should make this fight exciting is probably when I have to come forward and try to score. She’s longer than me, so she’ll have to maintain her distance and use her kicks and punches from her range. I’ll have to be the one coming forward.”

Beating Flores would give Stamp a second straight win since her return, but her sights are already set on a bigger move beyond this high-stakes main event battle.

Muay Thai carried her career for the better part of two decades, but it was a different discipline that completed her historic run as a three-sport ONE World Champion – one the 28-year-old is eager to get back to.

Stamp said:

“I hope I can compete under the rules I’m most comfortable with, which is MMA. Was I naturally better at it than Muay Thai? No. But right now, I feel like it suits me the most. I’ve been doing Muay Thai since I was a kid. But MMA has become more natural for me.

“I also want to reclaim my status as a three-sport World Champion. Everyone still calls me that, so I hope I can achieve it and really do it. If I get the opportunity to do it, I want to. I want to get back to the place where I used to stand out.”
