PTT And Hamza Rachid Muay Thai Slugfest Set For ONE Friday Fights 147

PTT Apichart Farm-Hamza Rachid-ONE Friday Fights 147

ONE Friday Fights 147 has been bolstered with the addition of an electric bantamweight Muay Thai war between Thai slugger PTT Apichart Farm and Moroccan bruiser Hamza “The Reaper” Rachid.

Their three-round contest takes place inside Bangkok’s revered Lumpinee Stadium live in Asia primetime on March 20.

This battle will treat fight fans to an intriguing clash of styles as they gear up to watch Nabil Anane defend his ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Title against Rambolek Chor Ajalaboon. On the same night, Nong-O Hama and Asadula Imangazaliev go at it for the vacant ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Championship.

PTT heads into this fixture after a promising debut campaign on the global stage.

The 28-year-old, who represents Team Mehdi Zatout alongside Anane, closed his year with back-to-back victories against hardy opposition.

At ONE Friday Fights 126, he edged Italian dynamo Alessio Malatesta via split decision in a back-and-forth banger. He then topped that display with another epic slugfest against former two-time Lumpinee Stadium Muay Thai World Champion “Left Meteorite” Ratchasiesan Laochokcharoen last December.

PTT dropped him with a stiff overhand right early in the bout. Though Ratchasiesan threatened to turn the tide behind aggression, PTT’s craft in the clinch and volume earned him a majority decision win over the knockout merchant.

The Pattaya-based fighter hopes to move to 114 wins at ONE Friday Fights 147, and an impressive performance could push him closer to the coveted US$100,000 contract and a spot on the main roster.

His mettle, however, will be tested to the fullest against “The Reaper,” who’s lived up to his moniker across two appearances on ONE Friday Fights.

In his promotional bow at ONE Friday Fights 129, the Elamghari Muaythai Team standout demolished Kampeetwada Sitthikul at the 47-second mark of round two.

He sent his foe crashing face-first onto the canvas with a salvo of shots near the turnbuckle to announce his arrival in style.

The 26-year-old brought that same finishing instinct to snap Antar Kacem‘s five-fight winning streak in their bantamweight Muay Thai tiff this past January.

He dropped the French-Belarusian athlete three times – the final assault coming via a punch-kick combination, which forced referee Ricky Sewell to wave off the action just 33 seconds into the third canto.

If he can secure a 20th career victory against PTT with another highlight-reel moment, Rachid could close in on the life-changing six-figure contract. But the Thai’s iron chin and unyielding nature promise to turn this into an exciting clash for as long as it lasts.

More fights will be added to ONE Friday Fights 147 in the coming weeks. Stay tuned to onefc.com for more updates.
