Rich Franklin’s ONE Warrior Series (OWS) stayed in Myanmar in this week’s episode, and assessed some potential mixed martial arts talent alongside a historic World Champion.

Along with ONE Middleweight and Light Heavyweight World Champion Aung La “The Burmese Python” N Sang, the team traveled north from Yangon to Mandalay, and met up with Soe Lin Oo.

The 27-year-old is already well-known in his homeland as a World Lethwei Champion – in fact, he was meeting ONE Championship Vice President Rich Franklin the morning after making the front page of the newspapers for winning his latest bout.

Despite his success, the man from the Doe Yoe Yar Lethwei Club wants to branch out from his national sport.

Inspired by “The Burmese Python,” he wants to break into a new discipline and earn recognition beyond his homeland for his achievements in the ring.

“I am interested in competing in lethwei, as well as other forms of martial arts,” he told Aung La N Sang.

“Because of ONE Championship, you are famous nationwide and worldwide, so I want to try out mixed martial arts as well.”

Check out the full episode to find out more about Soe Lin Oo, including the humble conditions in which he hones his craft.
