ONE Friday Fights 163 Co-Main Event Result: Mongkoldetlek Wipes Out Khamidov With Knees In Round Two

Mongkoldetlek Por Pim-on lands a kick on Utkirzhon Khamidov at ONE Friday Fights 163.

Former Lumpinee Stadium Muay Thai World Champion Mongkoldetlek Por Pim-on showed promotional newcomer Utkirzhon Khamidov there are levels to this game, stopping the latter in the second round of their bantamweight Muay Thai co-main event at ONE Friday Fights 163 on July 24.

The Kyrgyzstan debutant came out swinging in this Asia primetime battle in Bangkok’s Lumpinee Stadium, landing powerful hooks and a crushing spinning back kick. Mongkoldetlek, however, ate every shot and used his opponent’s aggression against him. He read the 30-year-old’s combos and soon found a home for a stabbing teep to the liver that sent his dance partner to the canvas.

Khamidov barely beat the count. Visibly hurt, he stubbornly pushed forward with front kicks, only for the Thai to use the same push kick that floored him again. Against all odds, Khamidov made it to the bell to see off the round, but it wasn’t meant to be for him when action resumed in the second.

Mongkoldetlek picked off his bull-rushing opponent with kicks from a safe distance. Sensing Khamidov repeatedly ducking low, the seasoned Thai locked in a strong plum and unleashed a barrage of knees to the midsection that floored the Uzbek for another eight-count.

Khamidov rose once more, but the Por Pim-on fighter dragged him straight back into the clinch and delivered another flurry of punishing knees to force the stoppage at 2:00 of round two.

The highlight-reel finish marked Mongkoldetlek’s sixth victory in ONE and pushed his record to 126-54.
