ONE Friday Fights 161 Main Event Result: Jaradchai Survives Knockdown To Rally Past Othman Rhouni
Jaradchai Maxjandee kept his perfect ONE Friday Fights slate intact, but he had to dig deep to do it.
The 18-year-old Thai phenom defeated 25-year-old Moroccan striker Othman “The Ironside” Rhouni via unanimous decision in their flyweight Muay Thai main event at ONE Friday Fights 161, which aired live in Asia primetime from Bangkok’s iconic Lumpinee Stadium on Friday, July 10.
The Maxjandee and PK Saenchai Muaythaigym representative looked composed in the opening round. He moved on the back foot to avoid danger while picking his moments to answer with flying knees, jabs, and high kicks. Rhouni, who represents Team Mehdi Zatout, tried to close the distance behind his jab, but the Thai teenager’s timing and variety helped him control much of the early action.
Jaradchai continued to dictate the tempo in round two, but Rhouni changed the fight in an instant. As the Thai attempted to launch a left high kick, the Moroccan landed first with a sharp left hook that dropped him to the canvas.
He beat the count, survived the round, and came roaring back in the third. Jaradchai forced Rhouni toward the corner and staggered him with a heavy punch. Moments later, he hurt his opponent again with a flying knee before dropping him with a left high kick.
Rhouni returned to his feet and tried to slow Jaradchai down with punches, but the Thai standout kept stalking him with long kicks until the final bell.
After three rounds, all three judges gave Jaradchai the nod. With the comeback victory, he improved his overall record to 77-25.
