Nauzet Trujillo And Liam Nolan Set For Lightweight Muay Thai Rematch At ONE Fight Night 31

Liam Nolan Nauzet Trujillo ONE Fight Night 19 39

Two of the lightweight Muay Thai division’s most exciting athletes will run it back in U.S. primetime at ONE Fight Night 31: Kongthoranee vs. Nong-O II on Friday, May 2.

In front of an always-lively Thai crowd at Bangkok’s Lumpinee Stadium, accomplished British star “Lethal” Liam Nolan will collide with all-action Spanish scrapper Nauzet Trujillo in a rematch of their February 2024 encounter.

In their first fight, Trujillo applied his trademark forward pressure and blitzing combinations to score a second-round knockdown and, ultimately, a unanimous decision win.

Not long after that bout, Nolan announced his retirement from competition – but his stay on the sidelines has proven to be short-lived.

The 27-year-old former WBC Muay Thai World Champion still has plenty to prove in the world’s largest martial arts organization, and he’s motivated to restart his campaign for the ONE Lightweight Muay Thai World Title by evening the score with the last man to defeat him.

For his part, Trujillo is still finding his footing in ONE Championship.

The Spaniard arrived in the promotion with no shortage of hype behind him after dominating the European Muay Thai circuit with his vicious clinch game and aggressive style of striking.

However, his hard-fought victory over Nolan is sandwiched between a pair of losses, each against top-flight competition.

Given their shared history and the pivotal points in their respective careers, both athletes will be hungry to make a statement at ONE Fight Night 31.

And if their previous fast-paced battle is any indication, fans should buckle up for a firefight in the rematch.
