‘Courage And Strength’ – President Of Mongolia Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh Congratulates Enkh-Orgil Baatarkhuu On Historic World Title Win

Enkh Orgil Baatarkhuu Fabricio Andrade ONE Fight Night 38 19

“The Tormentor” Enkh-Orgil Baatarkhuu has received the ultimate recognition from his homeland after capturing the ONE Bantamweight MMA World Championship.

Following his stunning fourth-round submission victory over Fabricio “Wonder Boy” Andrade in the main event of ONE Fight Night 38 on Friday, December 5, inside the fabled walls of Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, the 36-year-old received a heartfelt message from Mongolia President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh.

Baatarkhuu entered the World Title contest as the #4-ranked divisional contender, ready to face a dominant titleholder in Andrade. But against all odds, he turned the impossible into reality.

The Shandas MMA and Team Tungaa representative put together a complete performance, stunning Andrade with his spinning back kick, implementing his suffocating ground game, and executing impressive takedowns throughout the World Championship bout.

As “The Tormentor” grew stronger with each passing minute, he ended Andrade’s reign in the fourth round. Baatarkhuu applied a rear-naked choke that forced the Brazilian to tap out at the 1:33 mark, crowning a new king in the bantamweight MMA division.

Baatarkhuu also received a US$50,000 performance bonus from ONE Championship Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong.

President Khurelsukh’s message captured the magnitude of the achievement for the entire nation.

He stated:

“On behalf of the people of Mongolia, I warmly congratulate mixed martial artist Enkh-Orgil Baatarkhuu for becoming a ONE Championship World Champion and adding a new chapter to the history of professional sports.

“We express our deepest gratitude to you for showcasing the courage, endurance, and strength of Mongolian athletes to the world, and we wish you great success and many admirable victories in your sporting career.”

Baatarkhuu’s triumph holds even deeper significance as he became only the second Mongolian to capture a ONE World Title, following in the footsteps of his coach, mentor, and former ONE Featherweight MMA World Champion Narantungalag “Tungaa” Jadambaa.

The new bantamweight MMA king’s journey from working in a coal mine to standing atop the world’s largest martial arts organization serves as an inspiration not only to Mongolians but to anyone who dares to dream big. His story has resonated beyond the fighting world, as Baatarkhuu was recently a finalist for Team Mongolia in Netflix’s highly acclaimed reality competition series, Physical: Asia, where he shared his remarkable path to greatness.

With the prestigious golden belt now around his waist and the backing of an entire nation, Enkh-Orgil Baatarkhuu has cemented his place in Mongolian sporting history while writing the next chapter of his incredible journey.
