George “G-Unit” Jarvis stood on the precipice of greatness, but a nightmare matchup against reigning ONE Lightweight Muay Thai World Champion Regian “The Immortal” Eersel last August saw his World Title dreams go up in flames.

Going up against the Dutch-Surinamese icon, the 25-year-old British mauler was on the hunt for the elusive gold. But he failed to sustain his momentum and fell short in his first bid for the division’s throne.

Now, the 25-year-old will look to rekindle the fire burning inside him for another run at the coveted belt.

At ONE Fight Night 41 on Prime Video on Friday, March 13, live in U.S. primetime, Jarvis will return to the hallowed ground of Lumpinee Stadium to face fellow former World Title challenger Sinsamut “Aquaman” Klinmee to restart his climb anew.

The defeat to Eersel still lingers in Jarvis’ mind, but he has chosen to learn from the experience instead of dwell on it.

“G-Unit” said:

“It was the worst part of my career, mentally and physically, and everything led up to that moment. I was so confident I was gonna get it, and when I didn’t get it, it brought me back down to earth. It’s made me realize how easy it is to get taken away from you, and also how hard you do need to work.

“It’s been quite a good little reset button, if I’m honest. I’ve gone back to basics, I’ve gone back to finding out who I really am, and this camp by far has been absolutely amazing.”

Since that moment, no day has gone by without Jarvis working to refine both his elite striking arsenal and his ironclad mindset. The defeat to Eersel also forced him to make a tactical shift, encouraging him to focus on his myriad of strengths rather than spreading himself too thin.

The Lumpini Crawley standout is feeling like his old self again — only better.

Jarvis explained:

“We’ve gone back to the old George, and took things back, and realized how good I am at certain things, and not try to be good at the things that everyone else wants me to be good at. Just try and find out who I am again.

“So, if anything, I can say thank you to Regian, because he’s woke a new person up.”

Now the former WBC Muay Thai World Champion returns to the ONE Championship ring to face an opponent he has longed to face.

Jarvis and Sinsamut have had a colorful history, with the two often trading barbs on social media to intensify their rivalry. On Friday night, they will meet in the ultimate proving ground to finally determine who is the better fighter.

While Jarvis is aware that his upcoming foe carries artillery capable of annihilating any opponent, he sees the matchup as the perfect test to rebuild his climb toward the divisional summit.

The Brit said:

“To be honest, it’s probably the fight I wanted most. So when my old man let me know that that’s what ONE Championship offered, I was buzzing. Ever since my last fight back in August, that’s the fight I have had my heart set on.

“And I believe it’s one of the fights that, if I come and beat him, it puts me straight back into that limelight. So I was buzzing. It’s a perfect matchup for my style, and I’m excited.”

Jarvis Explains Why He’s Obsessed With Sinsamut

George Jarvis is locked in on his quest to defeat fellow former ONE Lightweight Muay Thai World Title challenger Sinsamut Klinmee at ONE Fight Night 41.

Now more aware of what it takes to reach the pinnacle of the sport, the Brit has identified the adjustments he needed to make ahead of Friday night’s showdown.

After closely studying Sinsamut, Jarvis offered his assessment of the dangerous Thai striker:

“Sinsamut is a very, very good all-rounded fighter. Obviously he’s a Thai fighter, so he comes with that traditional Muay Thai style. But he mixes it up well, he’s had a good few knockouts, so he’s obviously got power. But anyone’s got power in them [4-ounce] gloves. You only gotta get touched in them gloves, and it’s ‘Good Night, Irene,’ as they used to say.

“But it’s a perfect fight for what I want to do. A lot of pressure. I’m happy to go to war. But I can also sit back and have a good technical fight, so I’m not gonna give too much away. But this game plan that we’ve got, I feel it’s gonna work out perfectly in my favor.”

With a professional record of 83-21 and a staggering 80 percent knockout rate in ONE, the Thai slugger can turn any fighter’s lights out in an instant — and Jarvis is fully aware of this legitimate threat. But it’s because of this that “G-Unit” is drawn to this particular challenge at this time in his career.

Jarvis is confident that, with a victory over Sinsamut at ONE Fight Night 41, he will be right back on track to another shot at the gold.

The 25-year-old concluded:

“I’m so invested in this fight right now, and I’m so invested in Sinsamut, I’m almost obsessed with this fight. It’s all I think about. It’s all that’s on my mind, so it’s very hard for me to even think past this fight.

“This fight, all I’m thinking about is Sinsamut. I can’t picture anyone else without beating Sinsamut. So, for sure, after this fight, I’m gonna be thinking about the title again. There’s nothing else I want more just to get Sinsamut out. That’s all that’s on my mind at the minute.”
