‘I Won’t Let Him Escape’ – Hyu Plots Calculated Assault On Suablack At ONE Fight Night 41
Japanese phenom Hyu has steamrolled every obstacle in his path, and he intends to give Suablack Tor Pran49 the same treatment.
The undefeated 23-year-old brings ruthless intent to ONE Fight Night 41: Sinsamut vs. Jarvis on Prime Video on Friday, March 13. The three-round flyweight kickboxing bout goes down live in U.S. primetime from the iconic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
Hyu remains an absolute force of nature inside the world’s largest martial arts organization. The Team Mehdi Zatout and TEAM3K representative swept through his first four outings in ONE to extend his flawless professional record to 12-0.
That unblemished slate faces its sternest test next, as Suablack is no ordinary opponent. The battle-tested warrior carries 62 career victories into the ring. The Thai striker also brings technical precision, devastating power, and a veteran’s cunning to this 135-pound kickboxing battle.
Hyu’s admiration for his opponent runs only so deep. He studied his Thai adversary intently and came away with a precise understanding of what makes the NP Suablack affiliate a genuine threat.
The Osaka native shared:
“His defense is quite good. It’s not just about throwing punches, he’s thinking about what the opponent is targeting while he attacks. And he doesn’t just blindly go for the knockout.
“He’ll also outbox for points when needed. I think those are his strengths. He’s an outside boxer, and he’s also someone who uses his head a lot during the fight.”
That said, respect does not equal hesitation inside the ring. Hyu has identified clear patterns to attack despite Suablack’s well-rounded skills and high fight IQ.
The Japanese star took note of the Thai striker’s struggles against relentless pressure and heavy output. Hyu believes his explosive hand speed and lateral movement make him the worst possible matchup for the veteran.
The karate-turned-kickboxing phenom said:
“I’ve always valued shadowboxing in my daily training, and I think my sense of distance is better than most people’s.
“I can read the opponent’s attack patterns and build my game plan during the fight, so that’s my strong point.”
That killer instinct has already lit up the global stage.
Stoppages over Leandro “Gorilla” Miranda and Zakaria El Jamari put Hyu’s finishing ability on full display. His most revealing performance happened at ONE Fight Night 35 last September, when he battled back from adversity to finish Jordan Estupinan in the third round.
Now, he intends to make Suablack his most emphatic statement yet.
Hyu said:
“In terms of single attacks, for punches, I think his left straight is pretty much all he has. He’s also back-weighted. That’s something that will have a significant impact on my strategy for this fight.
“He’s physically very solid too, but I want to apply pressure in my usual way, and I won’t let him escape.”
Hyu Ready To Pass Toughest Test Yet Against Suablack
The physical challenge ahead is not lost on Hyu. Suablack Tor Pran49 is built to punish. The Thai’s powerful lower body holds the finishing power to prove it. Four consecutive knockouts on the ONE Friday Fights platform to earn a six-figure contract tell that story perfectly.
Hyu refuses to be intimidated by the daunting challenge. He is looking to compensate for any lack of raw physicality with flawless conditioning and preparation.
“Mister Pepper” said:
“In terms of pure, raw strength, I train so that I won’t lose to anyone in that regard. I think that will carry me to victory again this time.”
Hyu carries the aura of a man who has never tasted defeat. His US$50,000 performance bonus win over Estupinan in 2025 offered just a glimpse of his true capabilities. He intends to raise that bar even further by hunting the finish from the opening bell.
The Japanese star concluded:
“I think I’ll be in a dominant position within the first minute. I’ve been building my approach that way in training, and my form is good. I’m fully planning to go for the finish in the first round.”
