Full Card Revealed For The Inner Circle On May 1
ONE Championship returns to Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, on Friday, May 1, with another exclusive card for members of The Inner Circle, streaming live at live.onefc.com.
The event goes down just days after the historic ONE SAMURAI 1, which airs on live.onefc.com on Wednesday, April 29, from Ariake Arena in Tokyo, Japan.
A featherweight Muay Thai clash between two fighters who love to finish and a bantamweight kickboxing showdown between a seasoned veteran and an unbeaten rising star headline an action-packed night in the ring.
Topping the card is a featherweight Muay Thai bout between Ratchasiesan Laochokcharoen and Elbrus Osmanov. Ratchasiesan is one of the most decorated strikers on the roster.
He’s a two-time Lumpinee Stadium World Champion and 2017 Sports Writers Association of Thailand Fighter of the Year formerly known as Kulabdam. He is also a southpaw knockout artist who has built his career around his devastating left straight, and if he lands it clean on your chin, the fight is over.
Osmanov brings his own finishing power to the ring. The Russian has gone 14-1 in his career with nine of those wins coming inside the distance, and he arrives on a two-fight win streak that includes a decision over Saemapetch — a performance that featured multiple knockdowns — and a first-round knockout at ONE Friday Fights 117.
He is a pressure fighter with sharp boxing combinations and the confidence to throw spinning attacks when opponents think he is retreating.
Both men walk forward, both men are looking for the finish, and both men have the power to end things at any moment. Something has to give.
In the co-main event, Duangdawnoi Looksaikongdin takes on Yana Yip in an atomweight Muay Thai bout that pits a seasoned Thai technician against a dangerous Hong Kong debutant.
Duangdawnoi arrives on a two-fight win streak, with her most recent performance earning a bonus after a second-round stoppage of Regan Gowing at ONE Friday Fights 137. She is a crafty backfoot fighter who draws opponents into well-timed elbows and sharp kicks, and her ability to flip fights with a single left elbow makes her dangerous at every range.
Yip steps into the ring for the first time in ONE on the back of a three-fight win streak. The Hong Kong native is an aggressive boxer who builds her offense around a powerful straight right, and she is comfortable overwhelming opponents with high-volume combinations when she builds momentum. She will look to close the distance and impose her pressure from the opening bell.
The rest of the card features two more Muay Thai bouts and a bantamweight kickboxing contest. Suksawat PK Saenchai meets Linus Bylander in a bantamweight Muay Thai clash between two southpaws with venomous left body kicks.
Cho Kyeong Jae looks to extend his ONE winning streak against the unbeaten Dzhamil Osmanov — the younger brother of Elbrus — in what promises to be a hard-hitting bantamweight kickboxing bout between two fighters with serious finishing ability. And Chatpet Suablackmuaythai faces 16-year-old Riku Ito in an atomweight Muay Thai opener.
