Full Card Revealed For ONE Friday Fights 97 On February 14
Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching, but there will be no love lost as more promising athletes and contracted competitors collide in combat sports action February 14.
ONE Friday Fights 97 will emanate live from Bangkok’s iconic Lumpinee Stadium, offering up 12 more action-packed bouts across Muay Thai and MMA live in Asia primetime.
The main event features a 138-pound catchweight Muay Thai affair, as two-time Lumpinee Stadium Muay Thai World Champion Kongsuk Fairtex takes on WMC World Champion Lamnamoonlek Tded99.
Kongsuk is an accomplished striker in “the art of eight limbs.” The Thai combatant fights with his heart on his sleeve, and that’s quickly allowed him to garner a strong fan base in ONE Championship.
His 2024 got off to a great start as he collected wins over Petsukumvit Boi Bangna, Joachim Ouraghi, and Yodlekpet Or Atchariya. But he faced his toughest challenge yet in suffering a third-round knockout loss to Muangthai PK Saenchai last time out, so he’ll be itching to right those wrongs this week.
Meanwhile, Lamnamoonlek will be looking to shake up the division in his promotional debut. The 2023 Rajadamnern Stadium Fighter of the Year arrives in the ONE Friday Fights series with plenty of hype, having accumulated a professional record of 103-29.
He’s also beaten familiar faces in Duangsompong Jitmuangnon, Mongkolkaew Sor Sommai, and Chorfah Tor Sangtiennoi, so the 26-year-old will be aiming to surge to the upper echelon as quickly as possible.
Earlier on the card, Thai fan favorite Kompet Fairtex takes on Theptaksin Sor Sornsing in a 126-pound catchweight Muay Thai clash that’s expected to be a barnburner.
Kompet has stood out from the pack since a difficult debut against current two-sport ONE World Champion Prajanchai PK Saenchai. The two-time Lumpinee Stadium World Champion came up short in that first appearance before going on a five-fight winning streak.
That momentum was derailed at the hands of Chartpayak Saksatoon last November at ONE Friday Fights 86, so Kompet is eager to get back on track. But Theptaksin has other plans.
The 26-year-old rides a three-fight winning streak into 2025, and he knows a fourth consecutive win and a strong performance against his Thai counterpart would do wonders for his stock moving forward.
Elsewhere, an intriguing atomweight Muay Thai showdown is on hand as debuting striker Vero locks up with Chilean scrapper Francisca “Miss Scarface” Vera.
“Miss Scarface” has been value for money throughout her ONE tenure, participating in firefights no matter who stands across from her. She lit up Lumpinee Stadium with wins over Gusjung Fairtex and Celest Hansen, and she’ll be hoping to earn her third win in the series this Friday.
There will also also be a double dose of MMA on hand, as strawweight rising stars Jayson Miralpez and Ryuya Hatakeyama open the show before Harlysson Nunes clashes with Lucas Ganin in a bantamweight battle.
