Full Card Revealed For ONE Friday Fights 96 On February 7
ONE Championship embarks on its second double-header of the year this weekend in Bangkok, Thailand, and its first show live in Asia primetime promises to deliver an exciting dose of Muay Thai, kickboxing, and MMA.
Before ONE Fight Night 28: Prajanchai vs. Barboza takes the baton, ONE Friday Fights 96 will rip through Lumpinee Stadium on February 7. There, nearly two dozen international stars will battle for a life-changing US$100,000 contract with the world’s largest martial arts organization.
The main event features an exciting 142-pound catchweight Muay Thai encounter between rising star Komawut FA Group and the battle-tested Panrit Lukjaomaesaiwaree in a rematch of their August 2023 encounter.
When the Thais last met, Komawut notched a majority decision in a razor-close contest. Since then, he has gone on to earn notable wins over the likes of Yodphupa Petkiatpet and Alexey Balyko.
However, the 25-year-old has never managed to string together three wins in the series, so he’ll be out to change his fortunes this Friday. But Panrit knows it’s the perfect time to redeem himself.
Panrit amassed a four-fight winning streak over Lumpinee Stadium mainstays such as Kongklai Sor Sommai, Balyko, and Superball Wankhongohm MBK. But the 28-year-old slugger faced a bit of adversity in his last matchup.
His run ended when he met Suakim Sor Jor Tongprajin in December, so he’s eager to return to the win column in his first outing of 2025.
Another thrilling bout sees Italian standout Alessio Malatesta go head-to-head with Russian striker Abdulla Dayakaev in a bantamweight Muay Thai thriller — and this one isn’t expected to go the distance.
After an underwhelming debut, Malatesta has shown his acumen as one to watch in the weekly series. He scored a first-round knockout over Wilachon PK Saenchai in a fast and furious performance and then flatlined Portugal’s Fabio Reis with a head kick.
Meanwhile, Dayakaev has become a phenom in ONE Friday Fights. He won four bouts with ease before suffering his first setback. However, he managed to respond emphatically with a 35-second stoppage of Sibmuen this past December.
Elsewhere, contracted ONE athlete Hyu puts his unbeaten 9-0 record on the line when he faces ONE newcomer Leandro Miranda in flyweight kickboxing action.
Known for his talents, the Japanese man arrived at ONE Friday Fights 81 last September, dispatching Youcef Saad across three rounds.
That said, with a record of 14-4, Miranda will look to use his vast experience to ruin his foe’s momentum.
If that isn’t enough, China’s Wang Yuhan takes on Japan’s Ryuki Kawano in 122-pound catchweight kickboxing, while two unbeaten debutants lock up in lightweight MMA action when Jean Carlos Pereira meets Mansur Gitinov.
