Cristina Morales Hopes To Inspire Fellow Moms In World Title Challenge At ONE Fight Night 20

Cristina Morales thinks her co-main event clash with Allycia Hellen Rodrigues at ONE Fight Night 20: Todd vs. Phetjeeja on Prime Video will promote an important message to the global fan base.

Their ONE Women’s Atomweight Muay Thai World Title clash in U.S. primetime this Friday, March 8, will be the first mom vs. mom World Championship matchup in ONE history – and Morales is extremely proud to be taking part.

The Spanish star thinks the pair will deliver an epic battle at Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, showing that motherhood is no limitation to sporting success.

She told onefc.com:

“The woman I am fighting is also a mother, and I identify myself with her. We are proof that women can compete in the best leagues while being mothers.

“Allycia is a strong fighter that is always pushing forward. She reminds me of myself. She fights until the end.

“This fight will have great rhythm. It will keep you on the edge of your seat. Both fighters will do their best.”

Morales is a three-time Kickboxing World Champion, but she knows that claiming the gold in ONE would be the biggest moment of her career to date.

Not only would it represent a massive achievement, but it would also show her two sons that all her sacrifices and hard work have been worth it.

Motivated by this thought and hungry for victory, the 30-year-old said:

“To win this World Championship would mean a lot to me, my family, and my country. I would achieve something I have dreamed of all my life. It is the reason training is hard every day. It would be a dream come true.

“It is important for me to show my kids what people can achieve with hard work.”

Cristina Morales Takes Being A Role Model Very Seriously

Cristina Morales wants to make the most of her time in the spotlight this week.

Facing Allycia Hellen Rodrigues for the ONE Women’s Atomweight Muay Thai World Title on an all-female card, the Spaniard knows there will be a ton of eyeballs watching when she challenges for the belt.

Among them will be women who don’t always see an image of themself at the top of the martial arts world. And given that March 8 is International Women’s Day, Morales is eager to show that strength is just as much a feminine trait as a masculine one.

She explained:

“I do not agree with people who believe women are not strong. We are very strong. When I fight, I feel strong. When I fight, I feel anything is possible.

“To all women out there, I want to ask you to fight for your dreams. If you do it, it will come true.

“To all the mothers out there, don’t give up on your dreams or your goals because of motherhood. It will make your bond with your family stronger.”

Still, the two most important viewers for Morales will be her sons, and she wants them to believe they can do anything in life with the right mindset.

That includes being an elite athlete while also juggling life’s other tasks, such as work, school, and family.

The upcoming World Title challenger added:

“I am proud to be a role model to my kids. I like to show them that I can work and compete in the sport I love.

“I want to be an example to them and let them see that they can do different things without giving up their studies or the sport. They should be capable of combining all their activities.”
